For the 1st time in my career EVERY SINGLE SENIOR in our 🏀 program is signed, sealed, & delivered. 6/6 for BASKETBALL ONLY ATHLETES. The national average is approximately 7% go on to play at some level of college 🏀 . It’s only 3.5% for NCAA. We are 10/10 now w/ 4 of those guys signed and delivered for 🏈 . What a blessing. We are grateful, as a staff, to be at such a great school like Sandy Creek where we get to coach hard working and talented kids w/ such great family support behind them that allow their kids to be held accountable for a greater purpose. 6 seniors had a dream and 6 seniors will continue their careers beyond our hallways. Man what a blessing!

Last night Senior Jeremiah Wiley COMMITTED to the Anoka-Ramsey College Golden Rams. They are located in Minnesota. Jeremiah came into Sandy Creek after not having made the 8th grade middle school team. I don’t say that to put him down, but to put perspective on how much he’s improved. During tryouts we saw a kid that was about 6 foot tall, really skinny, hardly any skill, but he did have really long arms. We kept him simply bc we said “We need size. And he could end up being 6’5 w/ how long his arms were.” It ended up being a great decision & he took advantage of the opportunity. He rapidly improved every single year. Really improved his confidence on JV his soph year. He is a 1x State Champion. And he was instrumental in the milestones accomplished the past 2 seasons for Varsity. We are all proud of you Jerry! The work isn’t done yet. This chapter ends but your story is just beginning. ❤️

Retook our team pic this morning to make sure the guys that weren’t in the preseason one get recognized properly for their work! Didn’t accomplish our ultimate goal but these guys still accomplished some amazing milestone and accolades. The pressure is high each & every season to continue accomplishing what’s being done each year for so long. Each one of these will end at some point. Most likely soon as everything goes in cycles. Nonetheless, this group kept it going w/ these accomplishments & I loved being around this group every moment of the way & I love them forever. YEAR 9!

Honorable Mentions. 🔥
Jerry was nominated for Defensive POTY.
Trey Love was nominated for Freshman POTY.

Was surprised not one of these guys were selected to at least the 3rd team. We had 3 players selected to the All-Region teams. The 2 seed had 4 players selected, & the 3 seed had 3 selected as well. A Couple of teams w losing region records had 2 players selected. No disrespect to them or their coaches. I’m happy for their kids. Congrats to them. But for us to dominate, go undefeated, and only get 3 selected and not have the majority is wrong. 🤷‍♀️

We aren’t playing right now for individual awards though. Sacrifice is the name of the game. We are ready for postseason 🏀!! 😤
