I’m home now from a two weeks in the hospital. It wasn’t my first or even second stay this year, but it was the longest and perhaps most challanging.

My post is to thank all the loving souls in my life who have visited and checked in on me. Your love, and the top notch care from the good people at Kaiser, have healed me.
You also strengthen my resolve in this stupid six year fight with rectal cancer.

Dad, I love you. I got through July because of your presence and support. Dora I know you’re there too supporting me from home. The bolognese you sent cut a least two days out of my hospital stay! 🍝

Robin and Michael Chibnik, thank you for your enormous efforts to help me through these challenges. You hit the road at a moment’s notice and are here by my side for any reason. Usually with soup 🍜

Major my love, thank you for being that beautiful pool of light and fun when all other things seem so dark. 👠

My circle of friends at @realbadsf who dialed me into our woo woo before RITUAL and offered me that special love of inclusion when I could not be there. I was in tears for the award you presented to me. The flowers were exquisite. 🪩

My Aunts and Uncles: Maria and Bob, Paula and Terry. Thank you for traveling all the way to SF to remind me I am loved and valued. Thank you for your many prayers. I believe in their power. 🤲

My cousins Emily, Johnny, Betsy: Thank you for the visits and the FaceTime. I’m so moved you’re in my court fighting for me. 🎮

My friends who came by to visit: Jim, Ross, Jorge, Jake, Marie, Andrew, Patrick, Dustin, Jaime (nurse as well!) and others who crossed the threshold or picked up the phone, thank you. ❤️

For the last couple days my father and brother have helped me transition to home. Sister arrives tomorrow, and my grateful heart feels stronger every day. ❤️‍🩹

While training season felt like it was unending when it was happening, especially during those 80+ rides in the wind AND rain (am I right @jaimeboy) I can’t believe it’s over and the ride is happening in less than 2 days!

I’m sure this is just the beginning of lots of emotional posts and stories, I’m already feeling a little weepy thinking that this is the last year we’re all gonna ride to LA together, but first let’s get to that $5K!

I count myself up there as a huge, longstanding Madonna fan, but when you go see the Queen of Pop with SF’s #1 reigning fan, @jaimeboy , things just hit a little differently. I made it through a full day of clients after getting to bed waaay to late, but damn it was worth it.
