So thrilled to announce that @tabmarshallfilm and I are recipients of Screenwest’s ELEVATE this year, and that our short film/proof of concept THE BEGINNING is being brought to life.

THE BEGINNING explores the relationship between autonomy and control, following a South Asian bride-to-be as she navigates the suffocating expectations of her Mehndi night.

If you know me, you’ve probably heard me talk about this story and concept for the longest time. At its heart, this is a deeply personal South Asian story and I can’t wait to finally bring it to life.

Huge thank you to Screenwest for backing us and I feel deeply grateful to be part of such a talented cohort of individuals!
