I love zines and books and people who make zines and books and people who also love zines and books! Just small sampling of what will be stocked at ToySick this Fall!! We love every project we met and bought from @sfartbookfair and @hardcore.artbookfair. I can’t wait to build this space to highlight everyone’s amazing work 🥰. Forgive this poorly edited video I made in a hurry of only a small portion of what I bought for the shop but with so so much love in my heart for everyone in the mix ❤️

Last weekend @180.studios / @offprint_projects presented Relic, a project by @rroseeditions and myself - a multi-analogue fax machine installation that prints book pages live. Fax machines themselves are relics, possible technofossils - man-made objects that become part of Earth’s future geological record. The thermal prints were used to produce a collective artists’ book. This limited edition is published (and available) by @rroseeditions. Work made by participating artists Adam Basanta @adambasanta, Santiago Martinez Benedetti @santiagezmartino, Antony Cairns @antony_cairns, Susan Collins @susanalexisrandoms, Stewart Hardie @stewarthardie, Julie F Hill @juliefhill, Aspen Mays @aspenmays, Marcel Schwittlick @schwittlick, Travess Smalley @travess, Clare Strand @strandclare, Jaime Sebastian Vera @jaimesebas, Corinne Vionnet @co_vionnet and NASA Archive Mars 2020 @nasa relates to photography, technological relics or image transmission, making the installation and the book meta. The book hosts a conversation between the artists’ work and my own, a loose communication structure created through conceptual sentences, thoughts and reciprocal communication. Thank you to Yannick and Tarek (who were crazy enough) for making this happen and to all my trimmer and collator helpers @rahel.zoller, @santiagezmartino, @aspenmays and @georgia_metaxas for making the book an actual object and not a likely thought!

Replika Publishing presents Fang: Freya Brooke Verona Copeland in conversation with Youvalle Levy with Jaime Sebastián Replika Publishing co-directors Freya Brooke Verona Copeland and Youvalle Levy come together to discuss artist-led and collaborative publishing, focusing on new release; Fang by Freya Brooke Verona Copeland, co-published by Replika Publishing and Handshake represented by Jaime Sebastián. Fang is a personal exploration of how a place can awaken trauma, born from the artist’s experience during the DANA floods in Catarroja, Valencia, in October 2024. Rather than documenting the disaster itself, the project examines the emotional and psychological aftermath—flashbacks, imagined escape routes, and the struggle to navigate streets transformed by mud and destruction. The discussion will explore confronting memory, trauma, and reconstruction through image-making and the publisher’s delicate role in respecting and commemorating collective trauma and a community’s resilience. Friday 17 April 18:30 (BST) Online RSVP via Photo London Link in bio

Replika Publishing presents Fang: Freya Brooke Verona Copeland in conversation with Youvalle Levy and Jaime Sebastián. This online talk centres on Fang, a recent publication by Copeland, co-published by Replika Publishing and Handshake. Developed in response to the DANA floods in Catarroja, Valencia, the work moves away from direct documentation, instead tracing the emotional and psychological aftermath of the event. Through fragments, flashbacks and imagined routes of escape, it reflects on how trauma reshapes both landscape and perception. The conversation will explore the development of the project alongside broader questions around artist-led and collaborative publishing, considering how image-making can engage with memory, and the role of publishers in holding and translating lived experience. Fri 17 April, 6.30pm (BST) Online RSVP via the Photo London link in bio.
