📣 Opening Tomorrow in the Peggy Jay Gallery: ‘Topographies’ by @jairlaiter A series of oil and tempera grasso paintings created in the UK and Mexico City by artist Jair Laiter. Each piece was developed using the Tempera Grasso technique which combines the ancient egg tempera used mostly in religious art with oils, resulting in a kind of neo-sacred language. These works are meditative recollections, memory based depictions of cityscapes and landscapes, developed in the studio as reflective afterthoughts. El año de la rebeldía, y de grandes cambios. 7 años y ya presentaste 2 obras de teatro, vas por la tercera. Ya te cortaste el pelo más de dos veces con todo y que me prometiste no volverlo a hacer. Ya se te cayeron 5 dientes. Entraste a primaria. Ya cantas conmigo el disco entero de Fontaines DC y ya ves óperas completas, ya fuiste a tu primer concierto de rock a ver a Stevie Nicks. También ya me retas, me contestas, desobedeces y me azotas la puerta. Ya no me dejas peinarte y vestirte como yo quiera, ya nos peleamos, tremendas peleas. Ha estado difícil este último año, ya no eres chiquita. Duele un poquito. A veces duele más. razonas y cuestionas mucho… Sin embargo, tu compañía se ha vuelto una delicia, me choca que dure tanto tu escuela. Dicen que los primeros 7 años de vida son determinantes, creo que lo vamos haciendo bien. Deseo que podamos seguir nutriendo tu imaginación, tu desarrollo, tu creatividad, tu amor. Deseo que te sigas asombrando, que te sigan encantando las librerías y los paseos en camiones, los picnics y los parques. Pido paciencia para no agarrarnos de los pelos. Extrañando “el despacho”. Barecito que brilló aunque duró poco en la Hipódromo Condesa. Si… ahí donde era la oficina de Isaac Broid y hoy es la de @errevearq Una noche de junio de 2021 en donde de derecha a izquierda: Áxel Arañó, Isaac Broid, Alejandro D’Acosta (y la neta no reconozco al que está atrás), Jair Laiter (mentor musical y genio de la Guitarra), Alexis Ruiz (músico gigantesco, sobre todo vibrafonista en Los Shajatos y en Paté de Fuá) y su seguro servidor en el contrabajo. Que les digo? Seguro por nuestra culpa empezaron las quejas de vecinos. Ojalá que exista otro “despacho” pronto.

Este festejo lo hicimos todos con mucho amor y dedicación, Jair y yo hicimos los playlists, unos pusieron las flores, otros tocamos y cantamos, otros trajeron las donas (que casi no llegan) otros hicieron mead, otros orquestaron la ceremonia, unos cuidaron a Alana y otros a Ari jaja, otros trajeron picbox y tomaron fotos y videos, otros dieron speeches, otros abrazaron, bailaron y cantaron y otros consiguieron una cotizadísima hamburguesa.Por ésto y más estaremos eternamente agradecidos.
