So a Bettendorf HS wrestler who is committed to compete collegiately for The University of Illinois named Jake Knight finished his HS career as a 4X Iowa HS State Wrestling Finalist and 3X State Champion last weekend! He placed 1-2-1-1 in his 4 years of HS from 2023-2026. He won the state title as a Senior last weekend at 3A 132 lbs. Looked great! And now that his HS career is officially finished, it’s fun to combine his incredible HS resume with his father and Head Coach at Bettendorf, Dan Knight’s HS wrestling resume. Dan Knight has long been considered one of the greatest Iowa HS wrestlers ever. He was an undefeated 4X Iowa HS State Wrestling Champion for Clinton HS ‘87 and just made it look easy vs TOUGH competition.

So if you combine Dan and Jake Knight’s Iowa HS State Wrestling results, you’ll see that these two certainly have a case for being the greatest father-son duo to ever be produced by the state of Iowa. They made the state finals a combined 8 out of 8 times and won state titles in a combined 7 of those 8 trips to the finals! 😳 I can’t think of any other father-son duo who quite compares to the accumulation of hardware like Dan and Jake with an exception of Scott and Ryan Morningstar, in which Scott won 4 state titles and Ryan won 3. Just incredible

You guys will LOVE this kid in Illinois! Perfect fit there too!

GREAT JOB, JAKE AND DAN!!!
