DC → TX ❤️‍🩹

On September 17, 2026, I said goodbye to DC and headed back to Texas. On September 20, I arrived in Bryan, TX, and the next day, officially began my newest adventure at Texas A&M University as the IFC Advisor for Fraternity & Sorority Life!

I’ve had the immense joy of calling DC home for six years. Little 21-year-old Alex, who arrived in August 2020 in the heart of a global pandemic, could never have dreamed what this city had in store for her.

DC was where I learned to be a post-grad adult, earned a master’s degree, navigated many medical diagnoses and surgeries, and, most importantly, met people who exemplified the kindness and goodness of the Lord and became family.

From welcoming babies and celebrating new jobs, engagements, marriages, and adopted pets to two presidencies, an insurrection, and countless other moments, DC will always have a piece of my heart.

These photos are just a small glimpse of the final send-off the Lord prepared for me this past year. So many tears, laughs, prayers, and dreams hatched.

Its so so clear the Lord has been evident from the very first time high-school Alex dreamed of making DC home!

I miss my people. I miss running into y’all on walks, at work, at TJ’s, at church, or somewhere completely random. I miss the ordinary moments that never felt ordinary because they were with y’all!!

More than anything, I’m thankful. Thankful for the ways you loved me, prayed for me, challenged me, celebrated me, and shaped me. I get to lead and care for students better because y’all have led and cared for me so well.

Leaving DC holds so many emotions at once: gratitude, sadness, excitement, a touch of fear, joy, and heartache. I’ll never adequately put into words what this city and its people mean to me.

DC, thank you for six incredible years. To my people, this isn’t goodbye forever, just goodbye to being a short walk, Metro ride, or TJ’s run away. ❤️

& there are so many more photos, ppl and places i could have included from my 6 precious years in the 202!! But for now I’ll say I love y’all, I miss y’all, and I’m so excited for what the Lord has next.

DC → TX, with a very full heart. ❤️‍🩹

We're pleased to announce that Sam Acho, College Football & NFL Analyst for ESPN; Randy Bond, former 3-Year Starting Kicker at Texas A&M University; Jake Carter, Former Head Yell Leader at Texas A&M University; and Seth Hendricks, Former President of the Silver Spurs at the University of Texas at Austin; will participate in a panel titled, “Becoming Better Rivals: Sports as a Unifier” at the 2026 Reagan Civility and Democracy Forum on Tuesday, July 28. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Lara Brown, Senior Advisor to the Reagan Foundation’s Center on Civility & Democracy.

Inspired by President Reagan's belief that Americans can disagree without being disagreeable, the Forum convenes leaders from across the country to explore how civility can strengthen our democracy. This conversation will examine how sports can model healthy competition, mutual respect, and the values that unite us even amid our fiercest rivalries.
The 2026 Reagan Civility and Democracy Forum is presented with exclusive support from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
