EAST LANSING, MICHIGAN. — Maryland men’s soccer turned TERPSville into CHAMPSville Friday night, defeating Michigan State 4–3 to capture its fourth Big Ten regular season title — and the 50th Big Ten championship overall for Maryland Athletics.

The dynamic duo of Sadam Masereka (xadammasereka) and Stephane Njike (@stekojr) stayed red hot, combining on all four goals. Masereka delivered a sensational first-half hat trick, the first by a Terp since Eryk Williamson (@erykw19) accomplished the feat in 2017.

The win also capped an undefeated regular season for the Terps (12-0-3, 8-0-2 Big Ten), securing the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Big Ten (@b1gsoccer) Tournament. Maryland will host the semifinals at Ludwig Field in College Park, Maryland on Nov. 12 at 7 p.m. (live on BTN) and could host the championship match on Nov. 16 if they advance.

COLLEGE PARK, MD. — Maryland men’s soccer has climbed back to the top of the college soccer world, earning the No. 1 national ranking in both the NCAA Coaches Poll and Top Drawer Soccer rankings.

It marks the first time the Terps have held the top spot since the 2019 preseason poll, which followed their 2018 national championship season.

It’s been a special season in College Park, as the Terps remain undefeated and are on track to claim another regular-season conference title while positioning themselves to host both the Big Ten and NCAA tournaments.

Maryland wraps up its regular season this Friday in East Lansing, Michigan, where a win over Michigan State would secure the program’s first Big Ten regular-season title since 2021.
