He’s never watched a single video that I’ve taken during his volleyball matches. He never even LOOKED at his senior pictures. He never argues when I insist that we all take a picture as a family, even though I know he only does it for me. He has never cared if I post things about or pictures of him on social media (I always ask him if he wants to approve it first). He just says, “I trust you.” While I do believe that’s true, it’s more about the fact that he just genuinely doesn’t care about things like that. At least not at this point in his life. I keep telling him that there will come a time when he will cherish these memories. All of these moments and milestones that I’m desperately trying to capture, bottle up, and keep forever, don’t seem as important to him right now. I never want to forget a single moment that I have with my boys. I hope he keeps trusting me…even when I’m getting on his nerves and pushing him to participate in things and make memories. Tomorrow he will start his very last semester of high school! And I will continue to document every single moment that I can because I’m so ridiculously proud of my senior (and he trusts me)! I love you, Jax!

to never take for granted the things this life gives us

the paths that become journeys through connections
the spirits of individuals we meet along the way
the body we’re given from beginning to end
the blood we share with those at our dinner tables
the love in the little moments we have with furry friends

to always give gratitude to life’s immeasurable memories
