Where coaching and medicine meet. 💪

Dr. Sean and Coach Jake know what it takes to train, compete, and perform.

At Steadfast, we believe the best outcomes happen when physicians and coaches work together to support the athletes they serve.

Bridging the gap between medicine and performance, one athlete at a time.

📍 Come meet us at Desert City Classic!

Counting macros is math. Coaching is asking why.
Most nutrition plans stop at a spreadsheet. Here’s your protein. Here’s your carbs. Hit the numbers.
Then life happens. Kids. Travel. A busy season. And the numbers don’t hold.

Here’s what I’ve learned coaching former athletes: the numbers were never the problem.
Nobody asked why.

When I went through Precision Nutrition, I learned that the psychology of coaching nutrition matters more than just knowing macros. Coaching real people has proven that even more. So has being a dad. Three kids, a wife, a full house. Plenty of nights I end up eating the scraps off my kids’ plates because I can’t stand seeing food go to waste 😂. And I never stop to ask myself: why am I eating more than I need? Does this even fit my goals?
Why do you eat when you’re not hungry?
Why does late night hit different?
Why does the plan work for three weeks and then quietly disappear?

That’s where the real coaching starts. Curiosity before rules.

Yes, we track food. But we track it to learn, not to grade you.
What’s in it? Did it come from the ground, a tree, or an animal? How do you sleep after it? How does your gut feel? How’s your energy in the gym?
Like my mentor and friend @jakerfoster always says: principles first, then the method.
Whole foods that leave you feeling clear. Enough protein to build. Carbs that match your season. Water before caffeine.
Get the principles right and the numbers take care of themselves.

Macros count. They’re just not the point.
Here’s your move this week: at one meal a day, ask the four questions before you eat. Where did this come from? How will I sleep? How will my gut feel? What’s my energy in the gym tomorrow? Write the answers in your notes app. That’s it.

The judges of Instagram can’t decide whether this or 1 or 3 reps…

Regardless it’s either a new 1 rep max or a new 3 rep max thanks to the last 37 years of pressing every day feat. @jakerfoster

As most of you have seen already, we are officially approved to adopt! Multiple people have asked what's next for us and how they can help, so we wanted to put it out for our whole community on how we need help for what is next.

In order to move forward into applying for cases and finding our match, we have to have finances readily available. On average, domestic adoption is around $45,000, and could be even more depending on the case. While we are setting aside funds on our own, that amount is not something we have available right now nor will we be able to reach that on our own quickly.

Before anything financial, we need your prayer. This process has not been easy, and we know there are more challenges to come. James 1:27 says, "Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress..." We feel called and responsible to be the hands and feet in this adoption, and we are asking you to come alongside us to help bridge the gap to make it possible.

If you are able to help financially, I have a link in my bio for a donation. Please consider sharing this with someone else who might want to help if you know of anyone!

Thank you for the continued interest and support during this process. We have had so much love shown toward us, with people always checking in and keeping up with where we are in the process. We have felt extremely supported and thought of, and we cannot wait to keep updating you on this journey!

Hard to believe it! What a joy it is to be Brett's mom. He is a light in every room he enters, he is almost always happy, always dances, he has a genuine caring heart for people and especially for his family, a growing love for Jesus, and a confidence that doesn't falter. I'm just so proud of who he is and I can't wait to see what seven holds for him.

Happy birthday sweet boy!

Thanks @crashcrucible and @crossfitcrash for lighting the fire again. Probably won’t see you on the floor in October but ready to start setting myself up for the next year of chasing the dream.
