✨ A chapter closes, but the love will always remain. 🤍

My journey is taking a new turn, and Friday, October 16, was my final class at Sumit’s Yoga.

The emotions we shared during that final closing of class reminded me just how special our community truly is.

Over the last couple of years, our Friday 9:30 am class became a family. I showed up every week because I love you all. It was a privilege to witness your growth, healing, and courage.

Thank you for healing parts of me you never knew needed healing. Thank you for trusting me to guide you and for sharing your beautiful energy with me.

It was always you. Never the studio, the mat, or the heat. Just you. 🤍

As I step into this next chapter, I carry a piece of each of you with me. Keep showing up for yourself, give yourself grace, and never forget how worthy you are.

To my Friday morning family, thank you for being part of my journey.

I see you. I honor you. I love you.

Not goodbye, simply a See You Later ♥️

In today’s edition of “these people are totally bad ass and made @unfilteredshort what it is”, I present… our cast!

Kicking things off with our star, Liisa Kaufman (@liisakaufman ). Liisa, an actor, writer, director and producer, is a total dream to work with. The way she can change her performance take-to-take is truly astounding and her foundation as a filmmaker meant she was a true collaborator start to finish. She made Claire jump from the page to the screen as a three dimensional, complex and captivating character. Her performance truly makes this film.

Next up, Beverly Baker (@officialbeverlybaker ) joined us as the unstoppable, Deb Rogers. Beverly did such an excellent job of embodying this character that our crew often referred to her as Deb when we weren’t rolling. A true power house, Beverly steered Deb in all the right directions, giving her as much heart as she had hutzpah.

And we can’t forget, Claire’s biggest fans Suzy Weller (@yousuze_youluze ) and Nimene Sierra Wureh (@nimenesierrawureh ). These two brought depth, humor and humanity to their roles with ease and clarity. Suzy had a new improvised line for every take and each one had the crew rolling with laughter. And watching Nimene say a whole monologue with a single look made every take magic to watch.

And, one mustn’t forget Earl, played by Brian Hotaling (@bhotalingphoto ). Brian’s experience, talent and professionalism made him an unforgettable part of our film in just a single scene. He gave us a look into the world outside of Claire (and kept us cackling when cameras weren’t rolling).

And one cannot talk about our cast without mentioning the magnificence that is Calaine Schafer (@calaine_007 ). The fact that she hides in plain sight throughout her involvement is testimony to her dedication to craft, her steady awareness of camera and her undeniable skill as an actor.

We also could not have made our film without the talent and support of Lourdes Duarte, Alex Petrullo, Devin Elise Wilson, Daryl White, Jake Roan, Peter Stewart, Peter Cooper, Mariel Lowe and Michael Walker.

Keep an eye out for more about UN/FILTERED, premiering at @portlandfilm on October 4th at 10:30pm PST
