That’s a wrap on the 2026 summer season!

Thank you to everyone who was a part of the Giants organization this summer. A special thank you to the players who stuck it out from day one through the final game. You represented this organization with pride. Thank you to the college coaches that we are connected and built great relationships with. There is no Giants without your relationship.

A huge thank you to Ms. Lisa for keeping everyone fed all summer. Her burgers are easily the best in America!

Thank you to the MedStar training staff for taking care of our players throughout the season, and to all of the photographers who captured so many great moments.

We also want to thank our incredible fans for your support all summer long. Thank you to our host families. We couldn’t do it without you.

Now it’s time to turn the page.
Recruiting for the 2027 summer season is officially getting underway! If you’re interested in joining the Giants family, send us a DM, we’d love to hear from you.
#FIWB #DubaiGiants

If you’re already a pretty strong athlete but feel like your explosiveness and power need improvement, try this training approach ⬇️⬇️⬇️

Power is a combination of how much force an athlete can produce, and how fast they can produce that force. This means that to max out your power as an athlete you need to not only train to produce high levels of force (strength), you also need to train to produce that force as explosively as possible. This is where power training comes in.

Power is best developed in the 55-80% 1RM range, with each rep performed with maximal effort to move the weight as fast as possible. If you’re using a bar speed tracker you’ll want to be in the .8-1.2 m/s range, and you can adjust your weights as needed to be in the correct range on a given day. If you don’t have a bar speed tracker, you can estimate your 1-rep max using RIR and a 1RM calculation. and then perform your work sets at the appropriate intensity level (% of 1RM).

For a typical 3-day per week power block, we like to be in the 60-70% range for Day 1, 70-80% range for Day 2, and the 55-60% range for Day 3. Reps should be relatively low with 3-6 per set to minimize bar speed deterioration over the course of each set, and roughly 12-24 total reps spread out over 3-4 sets.

Make sure to keep your effort maximal and move the weight as fast as you can on each rep, and you’ll not only become a more powerful explosive athlete, you’ll likely also improve your maximal strength as well.
