It’s taken me almost two months to process this summer. I produced my first feature film, and it was one of the most intense, overwhelming, beautiful, vivid, and emotional experiences of my professional career.

Making a movie is hard. Making a movie independently is even harder. This process pushed me to the edge, but it also taught me so, so, so much about the industry and about myself.

I feel incredibly lucky to have led a team of amazing professionals who believed in the project. Even when things got tough (and they did many, many times), they chose to stay and work until the end. I apologize for the missteps, and I thank you for what we accomplished together.

I’m beyond honored that @jakezeeman @soulr.co decided to trust me blindly and had the faith to know we could make this happen. Thank you for your willingness to learn, even until the very end.

I’m grateful that I get to make art for a living. I’m grateful to be surrounded by incredibly talented young artists. I’m grateful that I’m learning how to set healthy professional boundaries. And I’m grateful for my passion, drive and the love I give to the projects I’m involved in.

Producing feels like being in the ocean—sometimes the shore feels infinitely far away, at some points you feel like you’re drowning, and then you realize you can swim, and even float. That’s something I’m working on always reminding myself of: to enjoy the journey and live in the present.

The gratitude I feel is immense, and I am forever bonded to everyone who had a part in this. I love you all. And now, we dive into the ocean again... POST-PRODUCTION.

@lonelypark_ this is just the beginning.

I got the opportunity to work on an animation sequence for @jakezeeman who goes by the name of @soulr.co on youtube. You’ve probably already seen some of his videos, his documentaries get a lot of traction and you really only need to see a few minutes of his videos to see why. He makes full length documentaries on everything about culture. I discovered his videos a few years ago over lockdown, the Frank Ocean video caught my eye so I thought what the heck. I got hooked right away. I just couldn’t believe the quality and passion that went into them, on subjects and people that I admire.

Anyway, a few years down the line I decided to start making some art based on some of the people he makes documentaries about. It's been a massive source of inspiration and it felt like a way to give some of the creative energy back. I did a piece on Virgil Abloh after watching ‘Virgil Abloh: How Kanye’s apprentice stole his dream job’ and it got Jake’s attention. We started talking on instagram so I offered out my services, a few exchanges of messages and video calls...and the rest is history. It's been a bit of a dream of mine to get an opportunity like this so I have to admit I was fighting with a bit of imposter syndrome. I even got a little nervous when waiting for the first video call to go through haha. Although time was tight due to doing this work around my full time job, the animation was a lot of fun to make! I learned a lot and it’s been a real pleasure to work with Jake.

This documentary is about how Bad Bunny has become one of the biggest pop stars on the planet. The animation is an interpretation of the moment Bad Bunny was working as a bag boy in a grocery store (for the people that remember me working hungover in sainsbury’s you know I can relate to this story) uploaded one of his songs to soundcloud and reached viral fame.

Let me know what you think of the animation below. I’ll be uploading more stills this week. I really hope this is just the start of this kind of work.

I recently had the pleasure of talking with @jakezeeman for @soulr.co about music, science, ethics, philosophy, etc. Jake is a phenomenal interviewer and it was a joy being able to fly through a variety of topics with him for his podcast. Check out the video in my bio and make sure to show @soulr.co some love. Jake’s level of depth and introspection in all of his videos is refreshing and engaging. I highly recommend you check out his work ✌️
