Some pictures of my 3 day trip to the beautiful Country of Czech Republic. A sold out, huge seminar last night with around 200 people on the mats from various clubs of the surrounding countries besides Czech. Prof. Robin has been doing a TREMENDOUS work for Jiu Jitsu and martial arts in the country and it is my honor to have given him the well deserved Black Belt, with the cooperation of his Prof. @centrumsportowebastion . Now we ( @eduardocarriello )are getting ready to teach tomorrow in Poland, in the beautiful city of Poznan. My hats off to the MAN. This month ( even though I don’t remember the specific date) I celebrate 30 years as a Black Belt. Right after the first qualifier for a Brazilian Team to represent the country at the first official Jiu-Jitsu Pan Ams in California. There was no big event or pompous celebration or ceremony. I have just trained with the amazing Bruno Severiano Ribeiro ( Rest in Power) on a tough and very action paced session and sat by the wall, next to Master Carlos Gracie Jr., who always sat by a plastic chair to watch, analyze and coach us throughout the “geral” ( live training sessions). I was very tired and drained…Then I noticed that Master Carlinhos was smiling and looking at me from the chair…. I looked and said: “ that was a tough one. I’m dead here.” Then he said, still smiling: “congratulations. You are now a Black Belt”. That was it. Simple, to the point but life changing. This is my last Black Belt anniversary. My next graduation ( if GOD ALLOWS ) will be the Coral Belt. In the same year, 1995, I graduated in Law and in October, me and Master Carlinhos formed @graciebarrabh. But that will be a different story. Thank you GOD, Family, Masters, Students, Gracie Barra and friends to have helped me to live the most amazing life through Jiu-Jitsu.
