Clarke Central High School junior Bess Stewart sits in the E.B. Mell Auditorium during the Junior Assembly on Aug 7. The assembly allowed students to understand that junior year would set them up for their future and create goals for the year. “(The assembly showed) that junior year is really important, and you need to take everything more seriously. If you mess up now, colleges are really gonna look at that and it could negatively impact your choices. It’s not worth (that) risk,” CCHS junior Blaine Kidane said. “My expectations are that I’ll meet all of my goals. I’ve set pretty reasonable goals for myself. (Another one is) that it’ll be overall an enjoyable year.” Photos by Kye Streetman, story by Olive Forrester

Clarke Central High School students participate in introductory activities in CCHS science department teacher Robert Pulliman’s Entomology class on Jan. 6 in Room 175, marking the first day of the spring semester. CCHS sophomore Frazier Gore reflected on the pros and cons of his new class schedule. “(I’m excited that) I get to see all my friends and I have most classes with my friends, so I’m glad about that. And I’m also excited about some of my classes because I’ve never done them before,” Gore said. “(But,) It’s definitely gonna be harder (this semester) because I had way easier classes last semester.” Photos by Iliana Tejada and Kye Streetman, story by Kye Streetman
