eDANCEcipation is a fundraiser for Rod Rodgers Dance Company, a community event and performance on Sunday September 21st from 3 to 5pm

Enter @ 11 East 3rd Street - Rod Rodgers Outdoor Space
…

We’ll kick off the afternoon with an opening talk by PEN America about the state of free speech, civil discourse in America, and the compilation of the Banned Words List.

After the opening remarks the Rod Rodgers Dance Company will be performing “eDANCEcipation”, a dance piece to reclaim the language used to gut science research and social programs. Putting them back into the culture of progress.

The company’s performance will be followed by a talkback/Q&A with the creators!

Finally we’ll wrap up the afternoon with light refreshments and a chance to mix and mingle with the dancers and community members alike.

🌟 Behind the scenes with the cast of Angels in America Part 1: Millennium Approaches , opening this Friday!

One of the great epic American plays of this past century, this groundbreaking work explores the lives of a handful of people trying to make sense of the world. The epic ranges from earth to heaven; focuses on politics, sex and religion; travels to Washington, the Kremlin, the South Bronx, Salt Lake City and Antarctica; switches between realism and fantasy; combines uproarious humor with deep pathos, and explores the tragedy of AIDS.

Angels in America, now celebrating its 30th anniversary, is a two-part epic that won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1993. It is widely regarded as one of the most important plays of the 20th century and has been praised for its themes of love, loss, and the human condition. A Tony Award-winner, HBO adapted Angels in America into an Emmy Award-winning film.

🏳️‍🌈 We have partnered with the @newhavenpridecenter A portion of the proceeds goes toward the center’s youth programming.

🎟️ This production is short and sweet: only 2 weekends and tickets are selling fast. Get your subscription at www.madisonlyricstage.org
