After months of script development, fundraising, crew assembly, and casting, @maggots_short_film entered production the last week of September!

We filmed over four days. Well actually two days and two nights. At our first location, our art team brought Bee’s (@marie.bobbi) iconic teenage bedroom to life, capturing the vortex of teenage girlhood. We also worked with Intimacy Coordinator @amandamedwards_ to create a safe, consent-forward environment for Bee’s 16th birthday party scenes.

Next, we packed up our trucks and headed to the farm for two overnights. Between petting the goats on the property, hanging the American flag in the garage, and fueling up on tea and coffee, we captured our first night scene. Bee (@marie.bobbi), Harper (@lola.bazile) and Chloe (@a.s.h.l.y.n) in the back of a red pickup truck, driving into an iconic Colorado sunset.

Now, MAGGOTS is headed into post production!
We look forward to bringing you along our Post Journey!

Funny how auditions work 🎥🎭✨

I originally auditioned for Jamie, the supporting role ultimately played by @raemigliorini and ended up being cast as Delilah, the lead.

A few months later, I was sitting at a drive-in cinema watching myself on the big screen as the lead in a short film. Still feels a little surreal to say that 🥹🙈🍿

So I put together this little look at the journey: my audition → Delilah in action → moments from the finished film

So grateful to Black Sparrow Media and this incredible team for trusting me with this story and giving me a character I got to really sink my teeth into🖤🧚🏼‍♀️
