🦁✨ I went to the musical in New York!

🎭 @thelionking
📍 Minskoff Theatre
🕖 Session 24/04/2026 friday 7:00 PM | Started 7:06 PM | Ended 9:30 PM
⏱️ 15-minute intermission
🎟️ Orchestra Row A — $235.50

Seeing The Lion King on Broadway as my very first musical in New York was truly unforgettable. There could not have been a more iconic way to begin this Broadway chapter.

🌅 Circle of Life was breathtaking. Rafiki opened the show with a powerful entrance while voices came from opposite sides of the mezzanine, and then the animals paraded through the aisles toward Simba’s presentation. It was completely immersive and instantly reminded everyone why this production is legendary.

🦒 I already knew parts of the staging from videos, but seeing it live is something else entirely. During I Just Can’t Wait to Be King, two psychedelic giraffes came incredibly close to my seat and it was such a fun surprise.

⛰️ The most jaw-dropping moments for me were Pride Rock and The Grasslands rising from the stage floor like magic. Even knowing it was coming did not lessen the impact.

🦁 I also loved the lioness hunt sequence — the costume design and movement create striking visuals onstage.

🎼 My seat had an extra special bonus: I was directly behind the conductor, and several soloists performed facing almost straight toward me throughout the night.

👏 Huge applause to this wonderful cast:
@ntsepamolebatsi as Rafiki

✨ A timeless Broadway masterpiece and a magical first musical experience in NYC.
