What an incredible day at the Ethos Lab Block Party & Open House 💜!

Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate creativity, innovation, art, music, and community. From the graduation ceremony, keychain making and painting to gaming, podcasting, STEM activities, live entertainment, and our clothing swap, the Innovation Hub was filled with learning and connection.

A special thank you to our amazing partners and supporters. We’re grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, performed, and helped bring this event to life.

📍Our Innovation Hub is located in the Cultural Amenity Space at 177 East 3rd Avenue, owned by the City of Vancouver, operated by 221A, and shared with other artist tenants and community organizations. The upgraded space was made possible by BC Arts Council, the Government of Canada, and the Province of BC.

Building a Legacy

As we gear up for this year’s Black Block Party, we’re taking it back to where it all began. BBP 2022: “Take Up Space.”

We knew Vancouver needed spaces for the Black community to come together and celebrate, but we didn’t realize just how deep that need ran, until you showed up.

That first year was more than an event. It was an experience. A movement in motion.
With artists like @bukolamusic and @adewolfy lighting up the stage.
Voices from powerful entrepreneurial leaders @adel.gamar, @metacounselling_ , and Adaeze Optua pouring into our community.
Incredible vendors like @van.suya and @kulafoods creating culture through food and shared spaces.

We started building something real. We just didn’t know how real it would become.

What started as a vision became a community cornerstone, powered by passion, creativity, and a team of volunteers who gave their all to make it happen.

Year after year, the impact has only grown.
Now we’re celebrating our LEGACY.
With the BIGGEST Black Block Party Vancouver has ever seen.

This is more than a look back. It’s a launch forward. Stay tuned.

Comment and tag a friend if you see yourself or your people 👀 in these memories ❤️
