IT’S FINALLY HERE! MY EDITORIAL!!

Over the past couple of months, I’ve been planning, casting, directing, and writing this editorial for the first edition of @basementapproved’s magazine, and it feels surreal to finally see the finished product in-hand.

It’s an incredible honour having the opportunity to platform and celebrate my community through my eyes, especially in a piece that showcases trans individuals existing within streetwear spaces. I knew from the start that I wanted to put together a piece that was honestly and authentically trans-led and trans-focused, while at the same time allowing space for all readers to reflect on their identity, gender, and style over time. This project focuses on stories and narratives from myself and some of my closest friends - Tai, Mahlah, and Azekai - exploring the intertwining aspects of identity, fashion, style, home, and belonging.

The BIGGEST thanks to all the wonderful individuals who helped bring this concept to life. It was extra special to be working alongside a trans photographer for this vision, thank you SO much @florence_law (and @edenlivsey_), for sharing your talent and capturing these gorgeous shots!!

To @thirdeyetai, @azekaiii & @mahlahsian, thank you for being so open about yourselves, I couldn’t have done this without your transparency and contribution. I’m so glad to include you in something so close to my heart, and I hope you’re as chuffed as I am to finally see trans models across pages of a magazine.

A HUGE special thanks goes to @harrietrussell and @james.curran for their invaluable help throughout this process - you two are the best friends I could ask for. And to my lovely @cea.ras, thank you for always supporting me.
