Dear my friends; my family; my peers; my elders; and my yutes. Thank you for the things you have provided me in this journey, Carleton can be labeled many things, but to me I call it home. The tears I could do without and the people that annoy me so pleasantly, I’m sad to see you go. The times we spent together will live endlessly in my hippocampus (PSYCH MAJOR REFERENCE).

For my first generation graduates and future grads to come, be the change you want to see, and with these intentions create a world fit for those similar to succeed. If I could go back and change anything, that would mean that regrets exist in this journey my fellow graduates and I have experienced along the way.

Thank you to my QuestBridge Chapter, my OIL coworkers and mentors, my TRIO peers and mentors, and POC community.🤎

Andy Warhol.
A couple of months of ago I went to the 「Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art」 to see the「Andy Warhol Kyoto」exhibition. Andy Warhol visited Kyoto in 1956 and again in 1976. The artwork on display were truly amazing and some were even inspiring. What caught my eye was his Time Capsule. During his time in Kyoto, and throughout his life, he collected everything, from wrappers to receipts to pamphlets and trinkets. He’d store his collections in boxes that would later be archived in a storage garage. A hoarder or a collector of the arts, I like to call it collector of memories. Since my time here, I’ve been collecting wrappers, leaves, rocks, pamphlets, and much more. Most of them hold memories, some are just beautiful, and other I can’t seem to throw away.

Osaka aquarium!!! So much fun and walking around! The Ferris wheel was pretty relaxing after walking around in the aquarium.
I realized that in my next life, I’d love to be a fish. They get to swim and see new faces everyday, but they are stuck in one place, so I don’t think I’d want to be a fish for too long. Or maybe I’d like to be a jellyfish, I love jellyfish!
I tried okonomiyaki which was okay, kinda salty and I didn’t really like the gelatinous meat, but I’d try it again.
Highlight was looking at the clothes slapped with English phrases/words.
Everything was bussin’! So many posters and stores and people…

Annual family photo. Look at the growth!

In our first year we had 13 athletes. Now we have 23 athletes across 6 sports. Of course not everyone could make the photoshoot, but what a group this is!
