JAMES HOLDEN (live) | 03 Agosto, Matera (Casa Cava)

Artyści zaprezentują muzykę z najnowszej płyty „The Universe Will Take Care Of You”, wydanej w 2025 roku przez legendarną wytwórnię Border Community.

📀 Zakup albumu: https://jamesholden.bandcamp.com/album/the-universe-will-take-care-of-you

✦✦✦

Brytyjski wizjoner syntezatorów James Holden i polski mistrz klarnetu @zimpelwaclaw połączyli siły, tworząc duet Holden & Zimpel – projekt, w którym dwaj wszechstronni kompozytorzy eksplorują najgłębsze obszary improwizacji w kameralnym składzie, osiągając hipnotyczne, bogate brzmieniowo i głęboko emocjonalne efekty. Dwaj artyści o podobnej muzycznej wrażliwości prowadzą spontaniczny dialog między klarnetem altowym a syntezatorem modularnym, łącząc swoje odmienne muzyczne doświadczenia w eksplozję surowej, pierwotnej kreatywności.

JAMES HOLDEN — A BREAK IN THE CLOUDS (MAIN MIX)

Released on July 28, 2003, “A Break in the Clouds” marked the very first release on Border Community, the record label founded by James Holden. Carrying the catalogue number 01BC, the record introduced a new vision of electronic music — one that brought together the emotional depth of progressive house, the experimentation of techno and the freedom of more leftfield sounds.

The Main Mix stretches across almost ten minutes, combining warm melodies, rumbling basslines and intricate rhythmic arrangements into a sound that would help define the identity of Border Community.

There is something extraordinary about the way this track unfolds.

It begins with a sense of anticipation.

The percussion establishes a steady pulse.
A melody slowly emerges.
The bassline grows beneath it.

And then, everything begins to open.

What initially feels restrained gradually becomes something enormous, almost overwhelming in its emotional intensity.

But the beauty of “A Break in the Clouds” lies in its contrasts.

Mechanical rhythms meet deeply human melodies.

Tension gives way to moments of unexpected warmth.

And beneath the complexity of the production, there is a simplicity that makes the music feel incredibly personal.

It is the kind of track that reminds you why electronic music can be so much more than a collection of rhythms.

Sometimes, without a single word, it can express something that would be impossible to explain.

More than two decades later, “A Break in the Clouds” still carries that rare feeling of discovery.

A moment when everything seems to align.

When the tension finally disappears.

And, just for a while, the clouds begin to break.
