Early summer Mallorca with Harrods.

Life revolves around the water here. Early swims before the heat builds, long afternoons under sail, and social evenings that extend beyond sunset. Simplicity is paramount. Sea time overrides schedules, and the horizon replaces most of the usual distractions.

The Mediterranean has its own rhythm, and spending time here is a good reminder that not everything needs to move at full speed all the time.

Adopted in the late 20th century for their durability, warmth and structure, rugby shirts became a natural fit offshore. Heavyweight cotton that could handle abrasion. Bold stripes that made crews visible through distance and spray.

In 1979, Peter de Savary introduced them to the British America’s Cup campaign, creating a unified team identity that would shape what followed.

From the yellow and green of Australia II to the colour-matched crews of the Whitbread Round the World Race 1989–90, they became part of sailing’s visual code. A defining thread in the fabric of sailing heritage.

Looking back to a wonderful couple of days sailing and cooking (2 of my favourite things) off the coast of Mallorca, a few weeks ago. Sea bass grilled with wild rosemary, lemon, olive oil and sea salt and local squid fried quickly with red peppers, morcilla, garlic and parsley as the sunsets over the sea. A collaboration with @henrilloyd_ and @james_aiken on a beautiful @spirit_yachts
