When my now-college-age nephew was just a little guy, he asked me if I was going to come back to Philly to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the family. I told him I wasn’t planning on it, and he asked, “You’re not going to be with your family for the most important holiday of the year???”

I responded, “I didn’t realize that Valentine’s Day was the most important day of the year.”

“Of course it is,” he said. “It’s about love, and that’s the most important thing there is.”
