Awesome @praxistrainingsystems training day held at @in2trainingfarnham with @tristanbennett.coach and @christopherthorne running the day. Some tough workouts and definitely a good test for my injury. We came through doing some good productive work. Muscle ups, rope climbs, burpees, T2B, pull-ups, box step overs (no weights for me) double unders, ski and row ergs and hang power snatch. To cap it all I got to do a partner workout with coach for 7 years @james_xlab which was really awesome. ***What was the biggest challenge along the way? So many challenges…. biggest challenge has always been balancing work and gym and just life in general. Programming is more about what you can recover from effectively session to session, week to week.  ***What helped you stay consistent when motivation was low? Motivation came from my coach James and the people that I train around - it helps keep things in perspective. Sometimes it was just about turning up and getting it done - it always build towards the end result. ***How does achieving this goal make you feel, and what has changed because of it? ⁠I felt like finally I’ve done it, I worked hard for it I felt like I deserved to hit it. And just gave me a different perspective of my training - the week before I missed multiple times at 90kg. It’s helped me understand that a bad session doesn’t mean you aren’t making progress, it’s just exactly that - a bad session. So park that feeling, and keep turning up Watch this space… I’m certain this won’t be the last post from this man this year! Congratulations!

That’s a wrap, my 2nd @internationalfunctionalfitness World Masters Championships representing Team UK 🇬🇧 in Brisbane Australia 🇦🇺. This time with the support of special people, my wife @sunnyseasidesophie who kept me calm, hydrated & fuelled up all weekend, my Son @zacharysmithfitness my Daughter @rachelsmith___ and Daughter in law @mrsredfox__ giving me a lift and incredible support with noise ❤️. I came 10th overall highlight hitting a PB💥 in the Strength test max clean and jerk hitting 107.5kgs placing 2nd! Also a big improvement with my Endurance test 1, actually beating the overall winner of this event in our age group! 6 tough tests over 3 days at this level of competition is no joke and my body has reminded me of this today 🥴! Scott and the whole UK Team 🇬🇧 were incredibly supportive to me across this event. There were plenty unwanted distractions beyond our control at this year’s event but we kept our heads down focusing on doing what we do - full send 🔥!!! Lovely to see @luke_mullock @daniella_mullock & @journey.with.gabby who made a special trip from Noosa to see me perform on the Sunday giving huge support. I’m extremely proud to be competing with all these incredible athletes from across the globe 🌏 Thanks to my coach @james_xlab of @xlabworthing for getting me in the best shape possible to tackle the tests thrown at me this year. Lots to be proud of along with areas to improve.
