I dreamt of you for so long, I just didn’t know you were there. This is the first birthday I get to celebrate your life, but honestly I already give thanks everyday for you, and I hope I never stop. James, I love you, and I can’t believe I get to spend the rest of my life with you, serving God, eating, watching, playing and traveling with my favorite person on earth.

God only knows what I’d be without you, and I think that is why he gave me you! To cherish and love forever:)

A rare occasion where my annual leave is used to go on holiday

I had many interesting and sweet valentine’s day while growing up, then 2020 came and I had the very worst. All I wanted that day was to go to work, go home afterwards and eat the mango ice cream I made watching a movie. That day, not only I was crying on the phone to a friend totally terrified for what happened but also when I arrived home, someone had eaten my ice cream. I cried even more of course, when you get a taste my mango ice cream you’ll understand. Family was out so all I could do was watch a movie not to feel alone, and I discovered this movie called “Valentine’s Day”. I laughed so much and it has been one of my favorite romcoms ever since.

It’s 2026, and without me seeing it coming, this amazing man came out of nowhere, and just did everything so perfect. The funny side is that I arrived one hour late to our dinner cause I couldn’t stop crying, thinking “God, I don’t deserve this”, and I was so scared I was gonna mess it all up, but as everyday since the past five months I told him the truth about my thoughts and he only cared about me being okey and listened and safe and THAT’S what actually helped me to be okey. What I didn’t expect was to feel so happy, so loved and so safe that day. And as funny comes at the end, we ended the night watching “Valentine’s Day”.

I guess it’s true when they say that sometimes someone who didn’t broke you, helps put you back together.

Also funny, the end of the movie is exactly this TS song I absolutely love.

Happy Valentine’s Day James, the first of many, looking forward to the ones that are to come.

En el 2024, mientras estaba en la biblioteca del seminario en el que estudiaba teología, encontré un libro llamado “Dama en espera”, y aunque no era lo que esperaba en un principio, terminó siendo mucho para mí tiempo después. Había un capítulo que nunca salió de mi cabeza, decía: “No debes ir a donde hay mayor posibilidad de encontrar a una pareja, Dios no trabaja con posibilidades, sino con imposibles. Si Dios quiere darte un hombre, te lo dará, así esté al otro lado del mundo”.

Ni en mis sueños más locos pensé que esto me pasaría a mí. Que llegaría literalmente un maravilloso hombre de la nada y cruzaría el océano solo para conocerme. Un hombre que amara a Dios y a la iglesia como yo, una persona que mi familia y amigos amaran y admiraran como yo. No, si me hubieran dicho que esto pasaría, no lo hubiera creído.

Hace algunos años le dije a mis amigos que como en las películas de princesas que veía siempre, un día llegaría alguien que me conocería y diría: “ella es” y nos moveríamos a partir de allí. Y fue así con él. Ustedes saben que yo amo escribir, pero a veces me resulta imposible al intentar aceptar que esto es real.

Aún hay mucho por contar, mucho por escribir, mucho por publicar, mucho por vivir. Pero cuando lo miro, yo solo veo mi futuro, uno en el que puedo servir, en el que soy libre y en el que soy aún más feliz de lo que ya era.

Mi versículo favorito, cobra ahora más sentido. “Pues yo sé los planes que tengo para ustedes —dice el Señor—. Son planes para lo bueno y no para lo malo, para darles un futuro y una esperanza.” - Jeremías‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬

Esta canción describe perfectamente lo que sucede ahora conmigo, y así como a mí misma, la estuve guardando por mucho tiempo.

¿Valió la pena la espera? Absolutamente.

Diré mucho más, pero por ahora cierto con algo que resume todo lo antes dicho.

4 years ago in a damp scouts centre in Paisley I met a girl who would end up becoming one of my best friends. Last week I got the honour to stand beside her as she married another one of my best friends. Nick and Lucy you will always be two of my favourite people and I can’t wait for this new season of life for the two of you 💛
