The Light in the Piazza is my favorite show - full stop! I honeymooned in Florence, have been obsessed with every cast, every lyrics and every beat of music since first coming across the show! There’s a beautiful pro-shot, a great story and powerhouses like Kelli O’Hara, Dove Cameron and Solea Pfeiffer behind the role of Clara! However, it wasn’t until the brilliance of Ruthie Ann Miles and, then, newcomer, Anna Zavelson, that I got to see the show live! Show: The Light in the Piazza Songs: “Statues and Stories” & “The Light in the Piazza” & “Dividing Day” & “Say It Somehow” The Light in the Piazza is a musical with music and lyrics by Adam Guettel, and a book by Craig Lucas. Based on the 1960 novella by Elizabeth Spencer, the show is set in the 1950s and tells the story of Margaret Johnson, a wealthy woman from the American South, and Clara, her daughter, who is developmentally disabled due to a childhood accident. The two spend a summer together in Florence, Italy. When Clara falls in love with a young Italian man, Fabrizio, Margaret is forced to reconsider not only Clara's future, but her own deep-seated hopes and regrets as well. A semi-staged Encores! production ran at New York City Center from June 21–25, 2023. It starred Ruthie Ann Miles as Margaret, Shereen Ahmed as Franca, Andréa Burns as Signora Naccarelli, Rodd Cyrus as Giuseppe, James D. Gish as Fabrizio, Ivan Hernandez as Signor Naccarelli and Anna Zavelson as Clara. Directed by Chay Yew, it "reexamined the musical ... from an Asian American perspective. The ensemble was comprised of Nick Alvino, Daniel Assetta, Jhailyn Farcon, Alex Humphreys, Mary Illes, Jolina Javier, Andrea Jones-Sojola, Matt Leisy, Katerina McCrimmon, Eliseo Roman, Vishal Vaidya, Kathy Voytko, and J.D. Webster. Enjoy! What are your favorite Broadway memories of The Light in the Piazza?! #thelightinthepiazza #thelightinthepiazzabroadwaymemories #newyorkcitycenterencores #favoritemusical #broadwaymemories

This appeared on my feed today. I can’t believe it’s been about three years since I was given this wondrous gift - Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas’ THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA, with this incredible company of artists, collaborating passionately for ten furious days at New York City Center’s Encores! Our luminous cast included Ruthie Ann Miles, Anna Zavelson, Shereen Ahmed, Andrea Burns, Rodd Cyrus, James D. Gish, Michael Hayden, and Ivan Fischer-Hernandez, with an equally amazing ensemble that comprised Nick Alvino, Daniel Assetta, Jhailyn Farcon, Alex Humphreys, Mary Illes, Jolina Javier, Andrea Jones-Sojola, Matt Leisy, Katerina McCrimmon, Eliseo Roman, Vishal Vaidya, Kathy Voytko, and J.D. Webster. The Encores! production featured music direction by Rob Berman, choreography by Parker Esse, scenic design by Clint Ramos and Miguel Urbino, lighting design by David Weiner, costume design by Linda Cho, sound design by Megumi Katayama, and hair and wig design by Charles G. LaPointe. Kimberlee Wertz was music coordinator, and Cynthia Cahill was production stage manager. Thank you, Adam Guettel and Craig Lucas for trusting me with your masterpiece. And thanks to @clintramos, Lear DeBrnssonet, @jennygersten and @mrmikerosenberg for inviting us to the Encores! party. Missing all of you. 🧡

It only goes to show what little people can do drink with me的時候⼜泛淚了 Grantaire明明就對政治漠不關⼼､憤世嫉俗 對情勢看得很清楚 卻⼜願意陪著Enjolras⼀同奮戰最後抱著死去的Gavroche ⾃⼰也中彈 在第⼀波戰況暫時休戰後 Jean Valjean唱Bring Him Home 最後幾句if i ‘die’ let me die 破⾳
