If you know me, I don’t usually put myself at the center of things, or openly celebrate myself. Not to say that I don’t celebrate, but making myself the reason for the occasion is something that’s very rare. Despite that, I decided to go all out for my 40th. Took a lot of planning, envisioning, and execution, but I’m very satisfied with the result. The whole goal was to throw the best party that I could possibly afford, and making sure that friends and family felt all the love that I’ve been given over the years. It’s apparent that God wanted this to happen because I got everything I needed down to the final details, and a Godsend in my party planner @girlnamedtyler. I don’t have enough words to describe how much this weekend and how much I appreciate everybody that showed up. It came together just the way that I imagined over a year ago, and that was the perfect birthday gift.

It’s funny looking back over my career and the lessons Burrrr Entertainment taught me.

Me and @jamesedwardmurray accidentally started an event planning and digital media company because we had a birthday party #tweakend. I was doing marketing (video editing, website creation etc) and he was the king of logistics. We went on the run Howard Homecoming (RIP #1000Bottles) and be featured in @washingtonpost Vibe Magazine, Global Grind and more.

This is the only way I’ll do corporate 🤭 Today I put on my advisor hat for @hellotherify quarter three updates and advisory meeting with long-time business associate, fellow dreamer, CEO and co-founder James.

Quarter three is where assessment turns into actionable steps for the upcoming first quarter (yes I mean first and not fourth). Sifting down from higher level into the weeds, one considers details surrounding growth, pain points which hinder said growth, and evaluates relationships with all involved in business goals.

In the words of my great grandmother, we’re going to ‘keep on keepin’ on’—combining authentic voice, competence, and legacy building—to the mental health sphere.
