A true ranch home is a basecamp for adventure. In the primary suite, French doors open directly to the breeze and rolling hills of the Sabinal River Valley, keeping the landscape close from the moment you wake up.

I’m sorry, did someone say the floors came from a Cartier boutique in Paris?

I’m looking at this house in Rancho Santa Fe, and I need to know how Martyn Lawrence Bullard even comes up with some of these ideas. The parquet floors were reclaimed from an actual Cartier boutique, there’s Cordovan-style leather on the walls, and an entire indoor spa inspired by a Moroccan hammam. The pool is surrounded by intricate blue-and-white tilework, and it looks like something you’d find tucked away in a palace in Marrakech.

Landry Design Group brought the architecture of Andalusia into the California countryside, and the Spanish and Moroccan influences are everywhere. Those arched corridors, the courtyard, the carved details, and the geometric plaster ceilings give this house so much character. That bedroom ceiling is practically a work of art. Imagine waking up to that every morning.

That dining room with the blue walls and antique lanterns? I’d be hosting dinner parties for people I barely know just to have an excuse to use it.

Swimming pools become successful when they feel like natural extensions of the landscape rather than imposed features. The perfect spot for this summer...

Nestled on the limestone bluffs above Lake Austin, this new build occupies an exceptional vantage point, with sweeping views across the water, treetops and downtown Austin. For its residents, returning to Texas offered the familiarity of a homecoming after years spent amid the pace of New York City.

At the heart of the project is a remarkable collaboration between Michael G. Imber, principal architect of his eponymous practice, and Vanessa Alexander, design principal at Alexander Design. Across the 975-square-metre, five-bedroom home, Imber’s reverence for ordered classicism meets Alexander’s instinct for nuanced interiors.

The result is as much a product of circumstance as of conviction. Conceived during the pandemic, the home is ultimately a study in unified vision – one in which architectural gravitas and design sensibility find common ground through mutual respect.

We don't carry a signature style from project to project, but we bring a signature process with the landscape always informing our choices.

The rondavel at Rancho Sabino Grande sits quietly overlooking a terrain where herds move across the property much like an African savanna.

Created as a place to slow down, reflect, and reconnect with memories of travel, the structure speaks to the larger intent behind the ranch itself: conservation, permanence, and a deep respect for the land and wildlife that inhabit it.
