Lots of love to some of my favourite people at @englishnationalballet, my friends from wardrobe 🫶🏻 They always make sure we look our best on stage, run from dressing rooms to dressing rooms setting shows with dozens of items in their hands like superheroes, are always here for a giggle or a hug and worked hundreds of hours on these incredible costumes, necklaces and tiaras!

Happy Birthday, Ava!

Ava Gardner was born on this day in 1922. She said of her life: “And, you know, if I had my life to live over again, I’d live it exactly the same way. Maybe a few changes here and there, but nothing special. Because the truth is, honey, I’ve enjoyed my life. I’ve had a hell of a good time.”

We’ve enjoyed celebrating Ava’s Centennial Birthday over the last couple of years - from special social media series (Ava Gardner was TCM’s Star of the Month last December), to the Ava Memories Project, special guests at the Museum, two amazing Ava Gardner Festivals, a new Ava Gardner Mural and Rose Garden at the Museum, special exhibits, and much more. As we conclude our Ava 100 celebration we look forward to continuing to share her life and legacy at the Ava Gardner Museum!

Oh wow!! Our blog finally has a new post up!
Spend a few minutes reliving last weekend and my solo road trip to the @avagardnermuseum Festival with me!!

Everything including stop # 1 in Nashville for lunch with @realbozotheclown to getting lost in Virginia, hearing the amazing @imvictoriaprice speak, and FINALLY meeting the incredible @avacthompson in person. This trip was one for the books!!

I had a thrill of a good time honoring the legacy of Hollywood goddess Ava Gardner at the @avagardnermuseum in Smithfield, NC. Great relatives of Ava Gardner attended new exhibits open featuring recent loans of Ava’s iconic movie costumes, and two newly-recreated gowns from the film Show Boat. World-renowned costume maker and collector @jameskellylondon shared how he restores and repurposes Hollywood costumes.

Ava’s favorite coconut cake 🎂 was served with the new Ava Gardner Sparkling Wine “Celebration.”

I don’t know how anybody can settle on their perfect wedding gown. My dream gown for ages was one by Claire Pettibone that reminded me of Eliza Doolittle’s ball gown. But I’m loving this veil and it just wouldn’t go with that dress…. 😂 I have some time before I seriously have to make my choice though.
