📣 ANNOUNCING: @thankyousoutheast 💛🌊

🌎 Southeast San Diego has always been full of brilliance, talent and limitless possibility.

🥹 I am so proud to introduce the inaugural THANK YOU SOUTHEAST (@thankyousoutheast) Community Day & Block Party, a new annual tradition created to celebrate the people, culture, future and promise of Southeast San Diego.

🙏🏾 For as long as I can remember, I’ve dreamt of creating something that gives back to the community that has given so much to me. My family, through @chickenshack619 , has poured into Southeast San Diego for more than 40 years, and THANK YOU SOUTHEAST is a continuation of that deeply meaningful and sacred work.

It’s a new chapter rooted in service, community and a deep love for home - and our way of honoring the generations that came before us while creating something lasting for the generations still to come.

📅 On Saturday, August 1, that vision becomes a reality, thanks to the incredible collaborators helping bring it to life, including Armon Harvey @harveyboy45 @harveyfamilyfoundation , @sandiegofc @dikeanyiwo , Charolette Patton-Logan, and so many more people and organizations committed to Southeast San Diego.

Join us for an unforgettable day featuring:

⚽️ A youth futsal tournament with San Diego FC
🎤 Live performances from local artists and me <3
🎧 Music all day with @dauche and @caliburrito
🍗 FREE meals for the first 200 guests, courtesy of @chickenshack619
🎈 Family activities, community organizations, local vendors, inflatables and more
📺 An official San Diego FC Match Watch Party

Hosted by SHAVONE. (@shavonec) and @thaspeakerboxx .

Whether you’ve called Southeast home your entire life or you’re experiencing the spirit of our community for the first time, we’d love to welcome you.

Welcome to Year One.

Free admission. All ages welcome. No RSVP required.

We’ll see you in Southeast. 🌊💛

🌊 🕷️🇹🇹 so the story begins…

MORTICIA is a full-circle return to parts of home and parts of me. We shot this where some of my story began: Helix High in San Diego, CA.

A return home, a conversation with my younger self, a thank you to my granny Cookie for her prayers, and to my family for all that they’ve poured into me, and a tribute to every girl who fought to find light in the dark. 🤲🏾

🕷️ MORTICIA (freestyle) Now live 🖤

🌊 This is SD. This is our story.

📣 Big News ❤️‍🔥🎉

👩🏽‍🔬 After years of building cultural programs, hosting thought leadership convos, and championing underrepresented creatives across entertainment, tech, fashion, and media—I’m proud to finally share that I’ve officially joined the @sohohouse Membership Committee.

🛠️ As a multi-hyphenate artist, creative executive, and advocate, I’ve had the opportunity to sit at the intersection of tech, culture and community—working with multidisciplinary brands, while staying rooted in advocacy, storytelling, and mentorship.

💡 Soho House has been a creative home where I’ve had the honor to amplify cultural visionaries, spotlight next-gen voices w/ @futureofcreatives, and build community through my work. 🎨 Joining the Membership Committee is a continuation of that work: building bridges, holding space, and making room for emerging and historically excluded creatives.

If you’re serious about your work and have interest to join the @sohohouse fam—especially BIPOC creatives in LA, and changemakers—reach out to
📥 admin@futureofcreatives.com.

We’d love to connect and advocate for your seat at the table. 🤝

⛽️⛽️⛽️👱🏽‍♀️ My BLONDE YAKI (#peekaboo freestyle) + Dot Pack are now live on SoundCloud and YouTube‼️ ⛓️‍💥 in bio!!

🌊 This one’s for Southeast Daygo! For the West! As Black Music Month wraps up, I’m kicking off my flute 🪈 music series, and had to start off with giving flowers the best way I know how — with bars, and my flute.

🎼 I’m a classically trained flautist and artist from Southeast San Diego, and this flip on Kendrick’s “Peekaboo” brings all sides of me to the forefront, with paying homage to where I came from, my foundation and the community that shaped me. Big salute to, @kendricklamar for inspiring us to be US‼️

🖼️ VISUALS / CREATIVE: By @futureofcreatives, this visual is a tribute to unapologetic Blackness and the iconic Black hair + beauty renaissance of the ’90s and 2000s. My hair was styled by my mother, Bonnie, a lifelong beautician and BLONDE YAKI is tribute to the ethereal flyness and creativity of Black Women.

❤️ This one is special — directed by San Diego native @filthymcdave, shot by @sam_newell_, with support from @kelvyncolt, @thundercup, featuring cameos from my legendary big bro @tiny_doo1 and my @futureofcreatives family @ianpinck @kelvyncolt.
