Eating fresh pastries on a bench in the street while sweating our butts off and people watching. We were in BGC the first few days which isn’t really…real Manila. They don’t even let tricycles or Jeepneys into the area!! I friggin love tricycles and am really sad we don’t have them here. BGC has about 1 million malls, which at first I was confused by but then I was outside for ten minutes in the sweltering heat and I finally understood why old ppl love a mall walk.

The hardest part of starting again wasn’t losing what I’d built, it was learning to believe in myself without the recognition, reputation and security I once had - I didn’t actually realise how much that meant to me until I didn’t have it anymore.

But 1.5 years later, I feel like we’ve finally found our feet, built a stable and happy life, and I’ve come to realise that the wins I’ve had weren’t necessarily because of WHERE I was, but WHO I am and what I bring wherever I go.

And now that I feel settled, I can feel my capacity growing to take on a little more and challenge myself further.
