An official, out-loud THANK YOU to the women who help keep me together. 🤎

There are more people I could thank, but these are two women I’ve done life with the longest. If you know me, you know loyalty is one of my greatest values. I’m a Taurus through and through, and when I find people who pour into me, I hold onto them.

@geniachurch . We’ve been rocking together for more than 20 years. I worked in your salon while I was in college. You did my hair for my wedding. You’re the only person I’ve ever trusted to color my hair. You’ve shown up for my events, my programs, my milestones, and when it came time to create the look for my Audacious book launch, you were the visionary who brought it all together.

More than the hair, though, thank you for what happens when I sit in your chair. You see me. You encourage me. You speak life into me. Somehow, you always understand exactly what I’m trying to build before I even have the words for it. Thank you for believing in me through every season.

And then there’s @jamiedionne The very first person to ever do my makeup after I moved to Dallas in 2012. Sure, I’ve worked with others over the years, but I always find my way back home. From 2012 until today, you’ve been beating my face down. 😂✨

Thank you for your artistry, your excellence, and the care you put into your craft. Every time I sit in your chair, you make me feel beautiful—not just because of the makeup, but because of the confidence you help restore before I step into another room, another stage, another opportunity.

I was so happy to celebrate Black Love on

Yesterday, I watched my childhood friend, marry the love of her life, surrounded by family, friends, and loved ones dressed in every beautiful shade of brown. And because she’s exactly who she is, she even made sure guests had the opportunity to register to vote.

A beautiful love story. A beautiful celebration. A beautiful beginning.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I celebrate YOU… 💐

The mama giving her all…raising her babies, holding everything together, & still chasing her dreams so her babies learn what hard work, persistence, consistency, & resilience truly looks like.

The mama who is tired but still standing in the trenches…grinding, nurturing, building, creating legacy, and refusing to quit. Don’t give up! You’re closer than you think! You are living proof that God gives a strength this world simply cannot.

The mama waking up in the middle of the night, over and over again, pouring out love & caring for her newborn through exhaustion.

The mama grieving the loss of her baby or a miscarriage…I see you & your pain matters. God is near to the brokenhearted.

The mama still waiting, praying, and believing to conceive…God hears your heart & your promise has not been forgotten.

The mama barely keeping her head above water, yet still showing up every single day…the Lord is sustaining you.

The mama working multiple jobs, sacrificing daily to create a better life for you and your babies…the Lord sees your obedience & your endurance…your labor is not in vain!

The mama who won’t stop praying, even when she hasn’t seen the breakthrough…keep going! The Lord hears every whisper, every tear, & every plea.

The mama smiling through it all, carrying silent battles no one sees…the Lord knows what you’ve endured, even when no one else does.

And the mamas who may not have given birth, but who continue to pour love, guidance, & care into our babies every day because it truly does take a village!

I honor you. I see you. And you are doing a phenomenal job!

And to my beautiful babies…You TWO are my greatest blessings! It is an absolute honor & pure JOY being your mommy…I thank God for you every day. The Lord showed out when He created you for me! I love you!
