POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Opposition parties have stepped up calls to stop the Ireland vs Israel game following the story of Natalie Abudayyeh, a 21-year-old player with the Palestine Women’s Team.

She was taken at gunpoint from her university dorm in June and has been held without charge or trial since. Her family and friends have not seen her or been able to contact her.

They’re appealing to the public, and everyone connected to football, to think about Natalie ahead of the controversial Nations League game.

Ex-IRA Members speaking about the Helicopter Escape in Mountjoy Prison in Dublin. The Mountjoy Prison helicopter escape occurred on 31 October 1973 when three Provisional IRA volunteers escaped from Mountjoy Prison in Dublin, by boarding a hijacked helicopter that briefly landed in the prison’s exercise yard. The helicopter landed at a disused racecourse in the Baldoyle area of Dublin, where the escapees were met by members of the IRA’s Dublin Brigade and transported to safe houses.

The boat community: crew as kin. Revolutionary love as everyday. Stakes are high, and it is care that sustains us while we build our resilient collectives. The flotilla: extended family, solidarity in motion.

People of Shireen, whom I had the call my crew, whom I had the opportunity to love: beautiful beings and becomings, each and every one of them, and also woven into the magic than happened between us, while we sailed.

Addendum:
Two videos, of two comrades speaking beautifully, had to be deleted, because of the risks of repression by of a state of passport and a state controlling entry, simply for wearing a hoodie with words about equal freedom for all, and simply for being on a flotilla of transnational solidarity.

CELTIC UTOPIA (UTÓIPE CHEILTEACH)
Saturday, February 28 | 9:30 PM | AFI Silver

Ireland's traditional folk music scene is being redefined and reformed by a new wave of young artists coming from punk, hip-hop, and beyond to rediscover an ancient tradition, infuse it with new vision and take it in unexpected directions—telling stories and singing songs to try to understand their past and heal their colonial wounds.
.
.
.
“The viewer comes to understand the colonial and theocratic heritage in Ireland is a blessing and a curse: it has caused so much pain, but gives artists something to rebel against, to be in opposition to, and therefore guides much of Irish musical and national identity.”
