I first met @jamoklean back in April 2019 when we tattooed his torso with waves and palm trees. Nipsey Hu$$le had just passed so we threw the All Money In logo underneath the palms. When I first met James he was dressed head to toe in his own brand @krispykleanapparel. I remember thinking how dope that was. James didn’t know it that day but he gave me to push to start making the “On The Path” clothing line that would drop later that year in September 2019 simply because I wanted to wear clothing that I created. I saw James again the following year in December 2020 when we tattooed a seamless flower of life pattern on his left arm. Recently this past August we made a legsleeve of lotus flowers, waves, and blackwork. Everytime James and I work together I know we’re going to be creating something that is outside the box. James has always came to me with with fresh, challenging ideas and given me free reign to create and we are always able to collaboratively produce a piece that is a 1-of-1 original. James has always been a trailblazer. At the age 24, only a short period after learning how to cut hair, James opened up his own barbershop in Sylmar called Krispy Klean. Through sheer hustle and determination, James learned how to be a store owner and run a business, and grow the @krispyklean brand. James turned the name of the store into a clothing line, and later opened a second barbershop location in Mission Hills. In addition to cutting hair, James has added scalp micropigmentation procedures to his toolbelt. He now works out of a private studio in the Noho Arts District. At 32, James has already reached great heights in his life and career and I can’t wait to see what he does next. Thank you James for always being authentically YOU and blazing your own path in life - you truly did it your way. Thank you for all the wisdom about building a business, a brand, a team, and a future for ourselves and others. Thank you for reminding me that our most valuable asset is our time and freedom. Most importantly, thank you for inspiring me to continue to authentically be ME and continue to walk my own path. I look forward to continuing this journey with you! 🕯
