Some recent life 🤍 The loveliest long weekend bringing in another year. Beautiful food, thoughtful gifts, handwritten cards & letters, late night catch-ups with fam in Christchurch at the same time as me for a few hours (!!!) quality time with my parents, cuddles with my new niece, fresh flowers, a gorg exhibition, and the sweetest messages. Special days, treasured people, thin places. This birthday hit different. I’m not sure if it’s coz I’m getting older or coz I’m in another space now 🥹 looking forward to another year of learning, softening, deepening, healing, expanding, strengthening & creating. It’s the greatest comfort in the world to know that The Good Shepherd holds it all together. He really is far more wonderful than I could ever try to describe, I’m so grateful xxxx

A few highlights from dad’s 65th last year. Yes I know this is 4 months late 😂 What a blessing to celebrate a really good man 🥹

I think the thing that made the greatest impression on me growing up was witnessing dad’s relationship with Jesus up close. I’d wake up every morning to him at the dining room table, bible open, guitar in his lap. We’d pray on the way to school every day. He honoured & served my mum consistently & with joy. He treated people with respect & dignity & was never afraid of doing the right thing. He’s still the same, just more seasoned & naps are on repeat these days lol. I know that my proximity to that sort of simple, honest, genuine faith has influenced my life in ways I can only attempt to articulate. It’s also one of many reasons I chose to follow Jesus for myself at 19. So thankful for the safety of his love & this beautiful community we get to share in as his family. Love you mika 🤎🤎

Been feeling some type of way reaching another decade this week 🥹.

A girls weekend was honey for the soul & got in a few cuddles with my beautiful new nephew who so lives up to his name!!

I realise now more than ever how much I value the simple things — staying soft, staying with Jesus, being intentional & honest & loving deep. Living just to ‘attain’/keep up appearances ain’t it aye..

Anyways, if this post encourages you at all, I hope it’s with the truth that you’re an unrepeatable miracle, His highest joy & deepest delight. I think Timothy Keller puts it so perfectly — the only one that sees you to the bottom, loves you to the skies… I’m living proof of a life steeped in that kind of grace. He really is everythinggggg 🤍🤍
