“twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do then by the things you did”. the option with no downside does NOT exist. every path may carry some regret, that is inevitable. what’s equally regrettable is keeping every door open but never walking through. choosing to do nothing and waiting for the option with no downside limits you to what you can achieve. a committed life to your goals can build something but keeping endless options and waiting builds nothing. either way, something may be be regretted no matter which way you choose. so explore, dream, and discover and find something you can enjoy life doing. life and comment if you read all of this

i feel that with end of the semester approaching, it can be hard to reminisce. it can be so easy to fixate our time and energy into the future ahead or the summer plans we have. i reckon that these are the moments where we ought to reminisce the most. yes, it is important to reflect on the future ahead. It is also important to remember that every moment is both spontaneous and unique. reminiscing on the journey is essential to whatever lies ahead. so take some time, be it tonight, this weekend, next week, and reflect on the moments that have brought you to where you are now. just keep living.

reflect and reminisce. i take photos and videos but i usually don’t ever look at them again after the moment has passed. i feel the need to capture a moment, however, when it’s passed I rarely will look again through my camera roll. this is one of the reasons i making these posts. until recently, i started taking more photos and scrolling through my camera roll. i find joy in reminiscing moments from growing up to graduating and i reckon there’s joy in that experience. i remember why i captured that moment in the first place and why it is important to me. moreover, they are moments I’m able to share with the people closest to me. whether you have a camera roll, journal, or just a few minutes - take some time today or whenever you free up to reminisce about the memories that have brought you joy. i reckon that’s something worth smiling towards. just keep living.

one of the themes/ideas I’m focusing on this week is dwelling in the moments of consolation in life. im also trying to set aside more time to just reflect and think. i think that in a time where we fill our time with school, friends, commitments (as we should), it is hard to just take a second to reflect. in those moments of reflection, i have been able to learn a lot. not only that, i think that shift of mindset allows for a better sense of clarity with whatever situation you may find yourself in. whatever situation you’re in, take a walk this week. maybe out to a park or around campus. take some time to reflect and think. let your mind wander and I reckon you may find a sense of peace. set some time away from the busyness of life and dwell in a peaceful moment. sometimes the inner dialogue in our hearts and minds is much louder than the dialogue we speak. just keep living.

“It’s a scientific fact that gratitude reciprocates” an actor once said during an award show. at a high point in their career, this person quickly emphasized the importance of gratitude. not only did this stick out to me, it was a reminder for me to approach and accept everything with gratitude. even the hard moments. moreover, not to take the day, the opportunity to love, for granted. it can be hard to approach each day with this appreciative awareness because it challenges us to think differently. i also think we can get alot from taking moments each day to embrace the journey in front of us and appreciate the journey completed. I reckon that the journey to whatever it we’re chasing will take time. that said, there’ll be stops along that journey that warrant a moment of peace to establish gratitude. so… give yourself time to escape from that long journey (just for a moment), take note, and smile at the things that bring you deep joy. gratitude reciprocates and I reckon that itself is something worth smiling for. just keep living

the longer our journey to the dream, the more we ought to stop for a moment….take a break. with busy lives of school, work, personal and professional livelihoods, it can be difficult to move out of that zone. personally, I have been in situations where taking a break “didn’t fit” into my schedule and I had “too many things” that I needed to do before I could let myself stop for a second. However, it was in those moments that I needed to stop for minute the most and be grateful for what I’m surrounded by. it goes against our nature to put force against the momentum of daily routines and habits. however, I reckon that once we allow ourselves to take that break, we can better spend the time outside of that break to really feel grounded. more importantly, the notion of gratitude can not be more evident when we just take a second and realize the spontaneity of the life we live. all said, take a moment today, tomorrow, whenever and just breathe. just keep living.

love the process…not just the final product. this notion has been on the top of mind for a good a good part of the week so far. this notion can be, sometimes, difficult to follow and easy to miss. it definitely can be hard to enjoy the difficult moments of achieving a goal or chasing a dream. love is a strong word. it can be hard to love the process but I think that’s why we should do it. if love was easy, that it was never really true. the final product is what’s on our mind but loving the process allows us to embrace what’s in front of us and have a sense of appreciative awareness to the world that we journey on. the much more rewarding experience lies in approaching challenge with a reinforced positive mindset and believing that the each step to the journey is another step closer to whatever dreams we’re chasing. the final product becomes more enriching and our sense of the present is stronger. so love the process and you’ll love the final product much more. just keep living.
