Portfolio Series Pt. 8 vol. 2🌳

These are visuals for the @oaklandrain full-length English debut 🍃 the first photo is the cover 🌾 The album theme is “evergreen” and the search for this in life 🤍

It was very exciting to design the linen suits ourselves👢🌾 we wanted material to be something that has been here since the beginning - and the fabric is a also a symbol of something that stands the test of time 🧵🪡

I am delighted to share that I am Maria! Bloom has been selected for the UN/BOUND Festival 2026, presented by Griffith University’s Creative Arts Research Institute (CARI) @creativeartsresearchinstitute

Created specifically for the festival, this new 30-minute performance explores voice, memory, identity, and the possibilities that emerge when we move beyond traditional constraints and conditioned beliefs.

Blending voice, piano, electronic sound, and curated video, the work invites audiences into an immersive space of listening, reflection, and connection. I am thrilled to be joined by pianist, @artemii_music with visual elements developed in collaboration with Mexican visual artist Valeria Pazos @valeria_pazosf

As part of my ongoing Higher Degree Research project, this performance continues my exploration of voice as memory, connection, and creative practice.

📍 Griffith University Logan Campus Auditorium
🕒 11.45am

I look forward to sharing this new iteration of I am Maria! Bloom as part of the UN/BOUND Festival 2026.

More details to come.come.

Behind I am Maria! lives a story, about voice, identity, and transformation. This year, I stepped into a new chapter researching the very things I’ve lived, how a singer becomes an artist… how a voice carries memory… and how creating can heal what once silenced us. I realise my voice carries my mother’s voice, my grandmother’s voice. This is a newly developed extract from I am Maria! features the beautiful images of @jane_long_art and @isabel.balmori integral to I am Maria! At Open Call for Artists, we are drawn to artists who blur boundaries, those who take what feels familiar and turn it into something that sparks wonder and reflection. This time we had the honour to interview Jane Long, an Australian artist and photographer whose work brings together photography and digital compositing to create surreal worlds that feel both personal and dreamlike. Jane’s journey began in the early nineties, when she first started experimenting with Photoshop long before digital art was widely seen as art. What began as playful image-making soon grew into a way for her to tell her own stories, pushing her to step behind the camera and shape the images she imagined. @jane_long_art jane_long_art

Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and brilliance of women everywhere. We honour the stories of those who came before us, the courage of those who stand tall today, and the dreams of those who will shape tomorrow.

To all the Marias of the world, the artists, the thinkers, the mothers, the leaders, the dreamers, your voice matters. Your story matters. You matter.#iammaria #InternationalWomensDay #iwd #herstory #riseup #🌹
