POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

We started at noon and ended at 8:30pm. People walked by, some stopped, others didn’t. Still, we read.

We lived the lifetime of a book.

It would have been far less vibrant without @uqnatu’s incredible designs, @cake_dump_ ‘s apple princess cakes, and @maggiecarsonmusic ‘s iconic performance. Thank you @artmageddonbk and @brooklynzhu for driving this forward (even if 3 weeks late).

It would have been far more lonely without Natalia Boumatar, @egrheams, @pishtophr, @bratissima, Deirdre Kinzie, @janes.art, @ubuwhaaaaaa, @katekdeng, @the_childish_creator, and all the neighborhood friends who ebbed and flowed.

I was particularly touched by my 9-year-old neighbor, who, after listening, purchased a copy with his allowance (We did have to warn his parents that it might not be age appropriate.). Still, children need books. They love listening. What tenderness.

So many thanks to all who came. 💙

Yale Norfolk 2026

This past summer I got the incredible privilege to attend the Yale Norfolk school of Art. Words can't really describe how amazing my time was there, and how I lucky I was to be in the same room with incredibly talented people.

The first few photos are portraits in my first studio, taken by the oh so talented @calvinsavestheplanet and the rest are photos from my film archive from the residency.

TO WILL A HOUSE (2’ x 4’) by artist, Jane Forrest: Components of this remarkable triptych, painted by Jane after she read the novel in the winter of 2024-2025, comprise the cover of the book. The painting will be on view at various readings in the future.

Jane Forrest (b. 2005) is an artist and curator working between New York City and Toronto. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Through materially intensive and repetitive processes, her practice considers labor as a form of endurance and care. Working across mosaic, painting, and sculpture, she examines how memory becomes embedded in domestic architecture through the accumulation of fragments, touch, and pressure. Her work has been exhibited at the Orillia Museum of Art & History, the Art Gallery of Hamilton, and the Royal Ontario Museum. She attended the Yale Norfolk School of Art in summer of 2026.

A Book is a Basket:

I wrote a little thing on Medium about my book. If you want to know more, please give it a glance. It’s short & hopefully sweet. And mostly, about how this story, like all stories, is a collaboration.

Thank you @janes.art, @julipencha, Natalia Boumatar, @egrheams, & @noah_____bergman, and so many others ~ for weaving with me. This tale chimes with you & that is its greatest gift.
