🎥 Van Der Meer Pro Interview: Lessons from Dennis That Built Champions At the 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Professional Tennis Registry, honoring the legacy of Dennis Van der Meer, I asked several former Van Der Meer Pros one simple question: “What was your big takeaway from Dennis?” These are coaches who were once touring pros… and today many of them are educators, mentors, and parents supporting their own tennis-playing children. And the answer came back loud and clear: 👉 Always go beyond. 👉 Whether it’s a good day or a bad day… 👉 Always put on the show. Not for attention. For standard. Dennis believed that being a true professional wasn’t just about how well you play — it’s about how you show up for others. Today these former pros carry that lesson forward as they: ✔ Educate the next generation ✔ Mentor young players ✔ Support their children’s tennis journeys ✔ Lead by example on and off the court Because champions aren’t only built through strokes and tactics. They’re built through standards, character, and consistency. That’s the real legacy Dennis left behind. Are you showing up only when it’s convenient… or are you willing to hold a championship standard every single day? Because that’s how champions — and legacies — are built. #vdm #vdmtennis #ptr #dennisvandermeer #tennislegacy tenniscoach tenniscoaching tenniseducation playerdevelopment athletedevelopment championmindset tennismindset highperformance mentalperformance sportpsychology performunderpressure nextgenerationtennis tennisfamily tenniscommunity wta atptour atpchallenger usta tennis elizma coachelizma
