“Hazel gets a lot of attention because of her distinctive coat. She doesn't really get it, so we took her to see something beautiful. Maybe seeing ‘Gild the Lily (Caribbean Hybrid I, II, III)’ by Carlos Rolon on the Chase Tower, Wisconsin Avenue will help her understand why so many people find her spotted canvas so fascinating.

Hazel is 10 months (at time of the shoot) and is mixed breed, mega mutt, Alabama designer dog. (Shout out and thank you to @jrpupsnstuff!) What she lacks in familiarity she makes up in individuality. She is sweet, snuggly, Velcro as well as sassy, vocal, demanding—oh, and goofy! When she's really enjoying the moment, she lays on her back, tail wagging while she chews and holds in her paws her current happy item. Hazel loves to chase anything that moves—balls, leaves, fire flies, toads, rabbits, squirrels, etc. She loves to eat but is learning somethings are not meant for eating. Hazel is smart but can be stubborn which is where her undeniable cuteness helps get her out of trouble.

She is always up for an adventure and then will curl up at your feet. Her summer included many firsts from brewery visits to doggy play dates to lure coursing to swimming to kayaking to camping and hiking. She met a horse and didn't like it. But she loves meeting people and their dogs.

Hazel brings spontaneity and color into our lives. She is unique, inside and out, and we love every painted drop of her. Her fur-brother Harley does too, although he doesn't like to admit it.” #dogsofmke

Harley (Corgi/Dachshund mix, 6 years old) was rescued from North Carolina and brought to Wisconsin to steal our hearts as well as our chairs. He loves the outdoors, except the rain, and appreciates when his family snowplow a trail in the yard because he is a low rider. He is a friendly, confident guy who loves to explore and smell our great city.Harley shows off his goofy side to his family, but everyone else usually sees his polite side. He enjoys lure coursing, hiking, and soaking up the sun in the back yard, or at a local beer garden like City Lights Brewery. He greets everyone with a wagging tail and likes to impress new friends with his many tricks. People who meet Harley often say what a sweet boy he is and they are right. Look for Harley and his people this summer where there is sun and beer. #dogsofmke .
