My 75-year old mom, after years of taking care of my dad and recovering from his passing, finally took her first trip to Europe. She joined me and 6 other women for a 7-day trip yoga retreat and mindful exploration trip in the French Riviera. She was very apprehensive about a big international trip like this but another participant @janicethiell was also coming and so they could travel together, making it possible for her to come.

They flew on @americanair from BUF through PHL to NCE. When they arrived on Sept 28, mom's checked luggage did not. She spent 2 days without her stuff, with me taking attention away from the trip and other participants, to help with that and incurring the expense ofour driver dealing with the airline and airport. Plus she had to buy clothes and toiletries; she had some stuff packed in her carry on but not enough for all we were doing those days, and the weather. After an amazing week, it is time for our Riviera adventure to wrap up.

Yesterday I got mom checked in and her boarding pass into the Apple wallet on her phone (and taught her how to use it). Then, this morning as I was having my first sip of coffee before seeing everyone off, I heard from upstairs a rumbling about flights. At 1:46 am France time, an email came through that her flight had been canceled and she had been rebooked. Obviously we didn't see it till 7 am.

When I looked at the rebooking the airline had done, there was NO WAY I could have my 75-year old mother take that route! I'm very well traveled and I would not have accepted it for myself. Leave NCE at 3:55 pm and go to LHR (passports/customs), then a 5-hour layover before arriving at 1:00 am in ORD (passports/customs), then a 7-hr layover and finally arrive in BUF Sunday morning. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!

When I called, they said there are no seats available on anything else but our other traveler who was helping her had been rebooked on flights with new numbers but the same original itinerary - depart nice at 1:00 pm, through PHL to BUF. I ended up having to book her on a new flight on @unitedairlines for $1800+ just so she can get home safely and surely.

I am reading a book right now called High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard. In it one of the things he talks about is when you never give up on what your goal is, you will meet more and more extraordinary people.

It’s true. I have met so many great people from all over the area and the US who I would never have met before.

It’s also opened me to so many great podcasts, performance development books and mentors.

You become better when you allow yourself to be open to new experiences and opportunities

You get what you put into it, but you also get more than you expected😊

And guess what - there is always room for you 😉

One of my jobs is stressful the other helps relieve it. Both are filled with amazing people doing their best to help others. Yes my FT job is really Full Time ( as I type this I am getting a text 🤣) but there is still time to help not only myself but to do my best to help others. You don’t need a lot of time to devote to it you just need the will. You also don’t need to be a super fit trainer you just need to want to do your best and share with others what your learning. Sound fun?? It is and you will be amazed at the wonderful people you meet along the way. #teamwork #communityiskey #helpingpeople #retaillife #coworkers

In 2019 I took a huge step and went to Beachbody Summit hardly knowing anyone and roomed w two amazing women and met some née life long friends. In 2020 Covid kept us from going to New Orleans but some of us locally gathered together. This year should have been St Louis but instead it will be virtual again and I am on my own but the wonder of the world we live in today - you are never alone there are those who will support you, cheer you on and be there when you need them - so here’s to 2022 and excited to where it will be where we can all go in person and hang out again. Who wants in with this opportunity ( because seriously if a shy self conscious person like me can drive hundreds of miles to Indy w people I barley knew and have a blast getting to know them - then how much fun will it be with more friends 🙂)

7Days of Gratitude Challenge. In times like these we all have to take a step back and remember all that we are thankful for. Today I am thankful for meeting Janice and for her helping me to realize I am called for more than just work. I never thought I would be able to decompress but with Janice that I exactly what I did and found out I am really called for more. Thank you Janice 💕

Feeling so inspired after team call night!!! This girl right here is PROOF of that BIG things can come from the hardest times!!!

Coaching helped her get through some of the most HEARTBREAKING seasons in her life. It made her “a completely different person” that grew to know her worth and her values! You can’t put a price tag on that! 💕 💕 💕💕💕

Coaching is not all about the money or the rank (like that’s just a BONUS). It’s about building acommunity, having people to lean on, growing as a person. It’s about feeling good both inside and out and sharing that gift with others!!!!
