Let me introduce you to the loaf of the week. The Sourdough, Anadama Loaf. This twist on a classic old New England style bread is made with my sourdough base, @janiesmill ground corn & artisinal flour blend, enriched with butter, and organic unsulphured molasses. This is excellent shared at the dinner table slathered with butter or apple butter. This loaf is available one more round before the new menu arrives.

The tiniest croissants you'll ever hear shatter 🥐💥

🍯 Tiny recipe — save this!
• mini croissant dough · pistachio cream · honey glaze · crushed pistachios
1. Roll paper-thin dough + pipe green pistachio cream
2. Fold tiny crescents + brush with honey glaze
3. Bake until golden, then tear and watch the cream ooze 🤤

Wait for the slow-motion tear — vivid green pistachio cream stretching out of a thimble-sized golden croissant. The flakiest pull I've ever captured.

Well hello there, stranger!

When I first started this account, it was 100% sourdough. Like everyone else during Covid, I needed a new hobby to fill my time at home and so I grew a sourdough starter, got really into baking bread (scroll down my feed to see!) and maintained it for a few years. Then life got busy, I went back to work full time, and decided it was just as good to support our local bakeries.

But then my 12 year old asked me to please start baking sourdough again and he’s hard to say no to. My starter was totally dead. But it’s just flour + water + patience. And a new starter was born!

This is the first loaf with my new starter, nicknamed Junior. Need to work on my rise but the taste was incredible. Back to weekly bread baking I go!

Did you know we have fresh sourdough bread made with organic stone-ground flour from Janie’s Mill available every week?

We’re proud to use flour from @janiesmill in Ashkum, Illinois, a family-owned artisan grain mill dedicated to growing and milling high-quality grains right here in the Midwest. They work to bring traditional, flavorful grains back to the table, using stone-milling techniques that preserve the natural character and flavor of the grain. It’s a perfect match for our commitment to supporting local agriculture and bringing you thoughtfully made food!
