✨SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: JANNE KOCH✨

As we approach graduation, we want to take a moment to look back and celebrate our four incredible seniors and hear about their favorite memories and next steps!

First up we have our favorite Swiss skier Janne! Janne’s dedication to and passion for this sport have been so inspiring over the last four years. He is graduating with a degree in Mathematics and German! Here’s what he has to say:

Favorite memory as an eph/ on the ski team?
“Sophomore Thanksgiving camp! Not much snow, a trillion loops, awesome people, impeccable vibes.”

What’s next for you?
“Don’t know yet - I am excited for whatever lies ahead!”

What wise words do you have for future ephs?
“It’s simple - challenge yourself, try new things, and don’t forget to smile.”

A couple of notes from the weekend.

- I’ve been doing this for a million years. Why haven’t I stood with @harvardskiing for award ceremonies before? It was the most delightfully funny and acidly cynical running commentary imaginable. I’ve never been prouder to be Crimson. Next time, we’ll just video the awards and mic up the Harvard team for the overview.
- I’ve known the “Cote Boys” since there was such a thing. @cote_beckett10 had the race of his life on Saturday despite being cheered on as “Lex” the whole time. My apologies. And Lex — you owe me.
- Thanks for all the incredible feedback - especially for the first annual “EISA Family Photo.” I would be remiss not to thank the @rikertoutdoorcenter for the ladder and for @jbecktime for saving my life.
- Photos are going up on the site. If you put in the password of “EISA,” you can download anything from the weekend at no charge. Just be forewarned — one of the greatest things about the EISA Championships is the emotion. For a large part of the field, it’s their last college race of their careers and you can see it in nearly every frame. TLDR:Lots of tears.

And a big thank you to everyone involved with @eisaskiing . I can’t tell you the number of times over the weekend I was greeted with a “Hey — Where have you been all season? We’ve missed you.” It was incredibly kind and greatly appreciated.
