𝐏𝐨𝐞𝐭𝐬! 𝐖𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬! 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐬! 𝐆𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 ’𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝. 📣🖤

It’s that time againnnnn!

Time to meet some of your favorite writers. (𝘖𝘳 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘢𝘣𝘴𝘰𝘭𝘶𝘵𝘦𝘭𝘺 𝘚𝘏𝘖𝘜𝘓𝘋 𝘣𝘦.)

Welcome to the August edition of 𝐀𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐬: a small gathering of voices who continue to show up in this space.

In this edition:
Someone who can write in 𝘌𝘐𝘎𝘏𝘛 different handwritings. ✍️
A scuba diver! 🤿
A sumo wrestling fanatic! 🤼‍♂️
And a whopping 50% of this month’s crew coming from my home country... the USA! 🇺🇸

And plenty more weird, wonderful, and completely unnecessary facts about the humans who call Instagram their virtual home.

These writers show up.
They comment.
They laugh.
They DM.
They get to know you.
𝘛𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘸𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘪𝘳 𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘧𝘧.

This still isn’t a “best of.”
It’s not a ranking.
It’s not a spotlight competition.
And it’s 𝘋𝘌𝘍𝘐𝘕𝘐𝘛𝘌𝘓𝘠 not in any specific order.

It’s presence.
It’s consistency.
It’s community.

𝐌𝐲 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐰𝐨 𝐠𝐨𝐝-𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐬?

𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐟𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨𝐰𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩.

So take a minute to explore their pages. Follow them. Hype them up. Get to know the humans behind the words.

Which answer surprised you?

Which one made you immediately go, “Okay. Same?"

Different countries.
Different continents.
Different lives.
Same heartbeat.

Grateful for every one of you who continues to share space here. 🖤

🍎 ✨ 💚 Honored that my poem about being an immortal apple devoured in love, "Ambient Hesperides,” has been published in An Apple a Day Anthology. 🍏 ✨ ♥️

The poem was inspired by Jane Hirshfield’s “The Groundfall Pear”: “It is the one he chooses, / Yellow, plump, a little bruised / On one side from falling. / That place he takes first.”

🙌🏽 This amazing anthology was curated by the incomparable writer and editor Chris Kads! I am thrilled to share pages with poet friends who I admire and whose work I adore including @alexdawcreates @chris_kads @tanias.butterflies @jaotto.writes @natalieharveldpoetry @tone.down.the.blonde @rembrandts.cure @danielleeliz.poetry @deirdregarrjohns @nicholasgroomsraps and many more brilliant poets. Please give them a follow as well and check out their writing and other artistic endeavors on their pages! 🙌🏽
