DO NOT WALK, SPRINT TO KYOTO RN 😭✋ Japan really set the bar in literal orbit because WHAT IS AN AVOCADO TOAST WHEN THIS EXISTS?!
We pulled up right at opening thinking we beat the system… WRONG. There was already a whole queue and we stood there for nearly an HOUR praying this wasn’t just aesthetic TikTok bait 💀
The shop is teeny-tiny: order at the door, get escorted out back, and BAM—we scored the riverside balcony seats. Crisp morning air, river flowing, main character energy at an all-time high.
Then this jiggling cloud of perfection hit the table and holy mother of carbs… it’s criminally thicc, violently fluffy, and melts before your brain can even comprehend it. That crème brûlée crust? Pure witchcraft. One bite in and I saw the gates of heaven wide open no cap.
If Kyoto is on your itinerary, add this to your notes immediately. Worth every single second in line. 😮‍💨🥞✨

‘The Winter Lantern Festival’

One of the highlights of our time in Nozawa Onsen was experiencing the Winter Lantern Festival.

With lantern displays lighting up the snow, fireworks filling the night sky and torchlight skiers making their way down the slopes, it was such a cool way to experience the Japanese winter.

There’s something pretty special about watching fireworks surrounded by snow-covered mountains, especially after spending the day skiing.

A night full of culture, atmosphere, a little bit of winter magic, and another reason to love Japan.

It’s exactly one year ago that I boarded that plane to a magical place called Japan.. 🇯🇵🥹

And as cliché as it might sound, I swear, life hasn’t felt quite the same since I came back.

Post-Japan depression is REAL. 🥲❤️‍🩹

There’s something about this place that makes your soul crave going back. I’ve travelled to many beautiful places, but I’ve never felt this way about any of them before. Japan left a little piece of itself in my heart, and somehow, a part of me is still there.

Maybe it’s the people, the way of life, the quiet moments, the attention to the smallest details, or the feeling you get just walking through its streets. Maybe it’s all of these things together. There’s a kind of magic and energy about Japan that’s almost impossible to put into words. ✨

I’m already dreaming of the day I get to return and discover even more of this incredible country. Hopefully, that day comes sooner rather than later. 🥹🇯🇵

And if you’ve ever been to Japan, I have a feeling you know exactly what I mean. 🤍

For the entire 9 days I was in Japan, I was sick. 😭

Like super sick!!

I basically lived on headache meds and vitamin C from grocery stores and 7-Eleven. Not gonna lie, it was the WORST!😩

Imagine finally being in the country you’ve been looking forward to visiting all year, only to have a terrible cough and cold the entire time. And don’t even get me started on the train rides that somehow made me feel even sicker!

But you know what? Maybe that’s just another reason for me to go back. And I WILL, that’s for sure!

Now I understand why people keep saying one trip to Japan is never enough. There’s just SO much to see, eat, experience, and explore.

Despite being sick, I had so much fun. Nine days felt way too short, and I already know there’s so much more waiting for us.

Japan, we’ll be back! And hopefully next time, I’ll be healthy enough to enjoy every single moment.🫶
