There is a Buddhist “Temple of Luck” named Katsuo-ji (勝尾寺) up in Minoh, Osaka. It is home to thousands upon thousands of these Daruma (達磨) dolls which are said to bring good luck. Upon visiting you can purchase and place another, and add to the beautiful patterns, and sometimes entertaining scenes they are placed in throughout the temple grounds.

金色の鳥居が並んでいるのが珍しくて、
とても綺麗です
結構引っ切り無しに人が訪れています
高台にあるので海の見晴らしがとてもいいです
阿字ヶ浦駅から徒歩5分です

The rows of golden torii gates are quite unique and truly beautiful.
Visitors arrive here almost constantly.
Situated on high ground, it offers a wonderful view of the sea.
It is a 5-minute walk from Ajigaura Station.

Postcards from Kyushu, Japan

This was a different side of Japan from the busy streets and cities I usually find myself exploring. Wide open landscapes, quiet coastal roads, small towns, and plenty of places to stop along the way.

I loved how much the scenery changed as we travelled around Kyushu, from the mountains of Aso to the coastline, with little moments of everyday life in between.

Some of my favourite memories from travelling are the unplanned stops and the things you come across along the way, like a can of corn soup from a vending machine on top of a mountain.

[Sensoji Temple, Asakusa]

One of Tokyo’s oldest and most famous temples, Sensoji is a must-visit when exploring Asakusa. The temple is especially beautiful during cherry blossom season, when sakura trees add a soft touch of color around the historic temple grounds.

[Lake Chuzenji, Nikko]

Located high in the mountains of Nikko, Lake Chuzenji was formed by the eruption of Mount Nantai around 20,000 years ago. Today, it is one of Nikko’s most scenic spots, surrounded by mountains and known for its beautiful seasonal views.
