It was an extraordinarily full and lovely summer - mostly full of music with @bergamotquartet, going to a variety of sports games, and family visits. Here are some highlights, featuring Nief-Norf, Hardanger Fiddle Association Summer Workshop, and Arts Letters and Numbers; niece/nephews in Memphis; World Cup rehearsal watching; and all the sports games I went to: NYCFC, the Brewers at Citi Field, and of course the Knoxville Smokies. At the end you will see an expert #thomassisterface photo.

NIEF NORF SUMMER FESTIVAL 2026 💚🐌🐛

I had the most magical two weeks in Knoxville making music with new friends from across the world! I am always so uplifted by the curiosity and open-heartedness displayed by the new music community. It was a tremendous honor to perform and listen alongside so many incredibly gifted and thoughtful colleagues. Love you all. 💚

I had the privilege of performing works by Kelley Sheehan (@kllyshhn), Chelsea Loew (@chelsealoew), Rob McClure (@robertwmcclure), Ty Bloomfield (@bloomfield.ty), Brittany J. Green, and the inimitable Steve Reich’s Music for 18 Musicians (for the second time in just three months!!). I also had the privilege of meeting and working with Russell Hartenberger (@russellhartenberger), an original member of the Steve Reich Ensemble, who coached us on Music for 18 for four very intense and rewarding rehearsal days.

Shoutout to @devonaugustacello, @emma.woodward_, @eh.frat, and @3than_burke for being such amazing and detailed collaborators—you all inspired me so much. Missing everyone I met and excited to cross paths with you all again.

Stay on it! Also SLUG!

Adjusting back to Wisconsin life after two weeks at @nmopgram with @re.duomusic! So many new friends and a whole lot of new music, but not enough photos taken (on my end) to capture the magic 😭. Thanks everyone! ✨🎷

📸 credit @walking_singing for some of the STELLAR action shots 😎.

There are never quite words to describe @nmopgram but I’m so thankful for an amazing 2.5 weeks in Vermont at one of my very favorite places in the world. Here are some pics of great people and inspiring music and some wonderfully silly times. Now, I’ve arrived in Knoxville for @niefnorf and am looking forward to continuing the summer @bergamotquartet adventures here with more lovely people!
