Disney Adult EP is finally here 🥳
I’m actually so excited to finally shut up about it ❤️
.
I wrote this song like 4 years ago, but I could never get it right. It truly took a herculean effort to resist releasing it prematurely. I’m on a kick now where I’m only trying to release things when they’re ready. And these 6 songs are definitely ready. They’ve honestly been holding me back from working on my newest stuff — and now 😈😈 I have been RELEASED!!⛓️‍💥⛓️‍💥
.
Thank you to Jared Nelson for playing drums on the song Disney Adult. Thank you to Sludge Thunder for the perfect album art. Thank you Nicole for lending your ear to help with mixing. All the other instruments/designs/mixing/mastering was done by yours truly. This album actually made me better at doing stuff. I learned alot about orchestration and recording. Like, I think I’m starting to get it. Still so much more to learn, but I’m proud of myself for how far I’ve come (I need to remind myself of this, otherwise I feel overwhelming shame about the things that I’ve left undone). I am trying to approach myself with more love, less fear. But you don’t need to know that! 🤪
.
I have 98 CDs left, so if you would like one, please message me and I can set one aside for you. They’re actually pretty cool, and only feature 2 mistakes. Each CD is worth 10$ and I’ll ship them anywhere.
.
This Sunday, I’m playing in a showcase at @thelemonsqueezenewpaltz for @sliceofnew and I will be playing songs from this album for the first time ever, so maybe come by and watch us butcher them? Just kidding, it will be sick. Show starts at 5:00 PM.
.
I am just so relieved. It’s out, it’s there for anyone to find. If you want to help me out — reposting this post, or adding the song to your story, or sharing with family/friends goes a really long way. ❤️
.
This caption is too long and mushy but I don’t really care and that’s what Disney Adult is all about.
.
I hope you enjoy.
Love, Matthew

I was going to make new CDs for this, but then I didn’t. Happy 10 years to Peaches. 🍑 This was my first album.

I made 100 of these CDs at Staples in 2016, and handed them out when I came to New Paltz. Some construction workers got them in stopped traffic by the Throgs Neck bridge. Wonder if they ever listened.

I met a lot of really great people 10 years ago. Friends who really opened my mind and humbled me and inspired me. I felt like I was on top of the world when I made this record. I was 22 years old and I felt ready to take on the world. (I was 95% dreaming and 5% action, which was not ideal for my progression). These songs became my calling cards in New Paltz for a very small but intimate group of wonderful people. I really, really treasure the time we spent (how much we’ve grown). Cherry Hill, Big Blue, Brown House, Snugs…

1. Nicole wishes me a happy anniversary.
2. Back cover of (maybe?) the new CD
3. Dave and Jared learn my song (Tom vibes)
4. Dan, Alex, Ryan, Jared rip the Tremble bridge
5. Peaches music video
6. 19 years old (horrendous singing and fake English accent) singing Peaches for the 1st time
7. Dave, Jackson, Jared (FONBA) playing Rome on the quad
8. Playing Peaches this morning
9. Miss Bliss (sweaty) in the moving truck
10. Wee Hours at Snugs
11. Eye see you

What’s your favorite song on Peaches? 🍑 Any memories surrounding it?

Have a great day everyone.
