#DistributionbyHookorbyCrook * — EPISODE 19 — “Accomplishment Cake 1… 0…” 🧁

The day is here. There’s no more Accomplishment Cake left to ceremoniously shove into my maw. The full 8-episode first season 📼 of @foodanddrinkboulevard will be made available exclusively on @kinemahq TONIGHT beginning at 8 PM EST 😅

🔗 in bio.

What’s the last, ultimate reason u should watch? It’s...

Well, just watch the video! 😉

There are far too many people to thank here whose contributions were essential to getting this thing to where it is, but I do want to s/o some cast & crew specifically in this moment:

DP — @jaredr79

Cast members @meganelyserobinson @charles.everett @chazshermilhodges and @jaime.lincoln.smith

EP — @milesxhodges

And Brothers-From-Other-Mothers @doncampesino @daron_greene @jldean_uva @brooklyn_globetrotter @mmballa @aseraile @trumantolefree $VladTheBlackRussian ✊🏿

@foxyflo04 ❤️♾️

for being not only great at what they do but for reliably going above and beyond in support of the project. 💙

Also thank u Team Kinema for being such a game and generous partner! Also above and beyond.

As I say in the post, this is but a stop. There’s more hooking and crooking to be had. Until then.

In gratitude and peace, WK 🙏🏾☮️

TL;DR: 🚨🚨 BREAKING — An anonymous backer has offered to match every contribution dollar-for-dollar between now and next Monday, November 17 😵

7 days le… Checks math… 1 week left on our Seed&Spark campaign❗️

Just got word an anonymous backer has offered to MATCH every contribution DOLLAR-FOR-DOLLAR between now and next Monday, November 17—up to $5,000. (If she’s pictured above—must admit—feel a little shortchanged.)

This means your $1 contribution will become $2, your $5 – $10, your $25 – $50, and your first born? Well, now you got twins. If you were considering contributing, maybe now’s the time? Already have? First, THANK YOU! Second, mind sharing with someone who might be swayed by the good news? My rough, back-of-the-envelope calculation comes to… Your impact being doubled!! 💰💰

Remember the mantra: Music rights ain’t cheap. Please spread the word far and wide as we hit the homestretch.

@ 52% to our $25K @seedandspark goal — 🔗 in bio — LEGGO!

A few weeks ago we had the privilege of screening this new(ish) trailer at @culturecon 🤯 alongside several others helmed by Black filmmakers. It was a time and the organizers should be proud of pulling off such a well-attended and beautiful event. (Don’t believe The Online Discourse. DO believe folks indeed had that sh*+ on!)

(S/o to @blackfilmspace for the connect ✊🏿)

We were scheduled to screen after a panel featuring Ciara (yeah, that one—talented singer/dancer/entrepreneur married to the famous quarterblack) and the house was packed. Your boy was giddy. Several hundred people squarely in our target audience were primed to watch on dual big screens flanking the hall. Immediately after the panel ended, Ciara got up, left, and well... Let’s just say a lot less people stuck around to watch 😭

GRATEFUL GRATEFUL nonetheless (And best believe I’ll be back next year with another project. Harlem 🥷🥷 know how to pray too.)

“Tahira” (Apologies Sis if I butchered the spelling!) returns for another quiz sesh and this time she has backup. But just bc that backup is highly melanated and glowing doesn’t mean it can talk to me any kinda way! 😂 S/o @jonthescholar for the mediation.

Your boy was recently in these Harlem streets, testing its (inebriated) residents’ knowledge of Old School. Results varied.

Debut of the new(ish) FDB poster. In honor of this less than momentous occasion, posters of the Top 10 movies and TV shows—in no particular order 😑—either most influential to the project or that I just think are *tough*

Probably a lil of both.
